@ai3_@HelgeDDS@lauren_w67 Using eg: u pick door 1; and prize is behind 2 host will show door 3 and u switch u win; if prize is behind 3 host shows door 2 and u switch u win; if prize is behind 1 hosts shows any door and u switch u lose. So switching wins 2 times, not switching 1 time
@AB1327@hutcho66@taipan168 Not sure how it’s the same. Before we had one income bucket and you paid an effective aggregated tax rate on it. Now there’s at least 2 buckets: earn $10k in wages $0 tax, earn $10k in capital gains $3k. That’s diff to me.
@hutcho66@AB1327@taipan168 Income is income and it shouldn’t matter how it’s derived but they’re wanting to tax labour and capital diff. Made retirement harder. Guess we’ll just draw down our supers faster to offset the extra tax and then hit up the gov earlier for the pension. Long term lose-lose for all
@hutcho66@AB1327@taipan168 If you’re under the 30% tax bracket you can’t even reduce the tax by putting it into your own super either. Just a money grab cos they cant stop spending
@AB1327@taipan168 Gemini Pro says it’s a split arrangement. The gains you made up to june 30 2027 falls under the old rules (50% CGT discount and marginal tax rate) and gains from july 1 2027 onwards fall under the new rules (indexation and 30% min CGT rate). Tax due is the sum of both parts
@taipan168@AB1327 Doesnt the capital gain that falls under the old rules get taxed at the marginal rate and only the new gains under the indexation rules get taxed at the min 30% rate? If not, then may as well sell everything by june 30th this year and start with a clean slate
@onslowshipping@Hughmaxdavis Haha just 11 uploaded. Weren’t these electronically submitted by the community in the first instance? These guys cant even copy/move submissions so good luck building more homes
@jason_king72@toy59496 Changing the incentives changes investor behaviors that could significantly impact what the gov expects to collect in CGT taxes. These expected tax takes feed into supporting their projected spending but what happens when that revenue falls short of projections - deficits grow!
@iL1keTurtles@David_McMahon75 You’ve already paid tax on your labour to acquire that capital. Putting capital to work is no different to doing a side gig to boost one’s income. The pool of income, be it from wages or investments, should be taxed at your marginal rate. You’ll eventually stop working
The Tortoise and the Hare: Store of Value edition.. love this chart of $GLD vs Bitcoin for past three years have the exactly same 39% ann return but two VERY dif routes there. One's a teenager and the other is 5,000 years old and they act like it.
Hey @elonmusk, your arch nemesis Tim Cook's wallet button just blue screened on my iPhone seventeen. One force restart away from a full mutiny. Fancy giving him a call? -Abrahamo.
