I would suggest a simple diet of One protein and one carb like rice, potato or fruit. No processed food. Sourdough bread if you tolerate wheat. Research resistant starch to lower the glycemic response to starches. Eat protein first to slow the digestion of carbs to lower the glucose spike. If you are needing to lose a significant amount of weight try to keep your carbs below 30 grams per day. You need to be in a caloric deficit so figure out what your daily maintenance calories are and stay below that.
