Revenge trading does not feel like gambling in the moment. It feels like recovering what you lost. That is the trap.
You take a 3% loss. Your plan says stop for the day. But the market is still moving, you are still sharp, and you just need one clean trade to get back to flat.
Except now you are trading without a setup. You are trading an emotion.
The position size goes up because you need to recover faster. The stop gets moved because you cannot take another loss. Then the second trade hits, and you are down 8% instead of 3%.
Most blown accounts are not the result of one bad trade. They are the result of the one trade that came after it.
The rule experienced traders actually follow: when you hit your daily loss limit, the session is over. No exceptions, no overrides.
What is the loss limit that actually gets you to close the platform and walk away?

Most traders lose not because they lack skill but because they have no plan.
A real trading plan is not a vague idea in your head. It has a defined entry trigger, a specific stop loss level, a target, and a maximum loss per trade written down before you open a position.
Without that, every trade becomes a feeling. And feelings get destroyed in volatile markets.
The part experienced traders never skip: knowing in advance exactly when they are wrong. Not after the trade moves against them. Before.
If you do not know your invalidation point before entry, you are not trading. You are guessing.
What does your trading plan actually include?

Paper trading gets dismissed because people do it wrong.
They place fake trades with no rules, no position sizing, no journaling. Then they lose real money live and blame the market.
The point of paper trading is not to practice clicking buttons. It is to stress-test a specific setup under real conditions — same entry criteria, same stop, same target, same size you would actually use.
Run 50 trades on one setup. Track win rate, average R, and where you deviated from the plan. That data tells you whether the edge is real before you risk a dollar.
Most traders skip this step because it feels slow. Then they spend six months losing money figuring out the same thing.
The traders who treat paper trading like a job are the ones who come into live markets knowing exactly what they have.
How many trades did you paper before going live?

Most beginners blow their account with leverage before they understand what it actually does.
10x leverage does not mean 10x profit potential.
It means a 10% move against you wipes out your entire position.
A $1,000 trade at 10x leverage is a $10,000 exposure.
You are not trading $1,000. You are trading $10,000 with borrowed capital.
The market does not care about your entry thesis. A 5% wick in the wrong direction at 20x is a liquidation. That happens in minutes on low-liquidity pairs.
Experienced traders who use leverage still size their positions so that a losing trade costs 1-2% of total capital — not the whole account.
If you cannot survive 5 consecutive losing trades, your leverage is too high.
What leverage do you actually trade at, and how did you land on that number?

Price tells you what happened.
Volume tells you whether anyone believed it.
A candle closing up 8% on thin volume is not a breakout.
It is a setup waiting to fail.
The moves that hold are the ones with volume expansion at the break and volume contraction on the pullback.
That sequence is the whole game.
Traders who only read price get caught in every fake move.
Traders who read volume know which ones to ignore.
What do you weight more when reading a chart — price action or volume?
