The world has reached its highest level of uncertainty in history.
Global uncertainty has now surpassed:
• The Covid-19 pandemic
• The Global Financial Crisis
• The Dotcom bubble
We are officially operating in a regime of extreme unpredictability.
When uncertainty spikes to record levels:
• Capital becomes defensive
• Volatility increases across all asset classes
• Liquidity tightens and reallocates selectively
• Correlations break and narratives shift fast
This is not just another market cycle.
It is a structural shift in the global order.
The Epstein Files and alleged links to the crypto industry
Jeffrey Epstein was a disgraced financier and convicted sex trafficker who died in prison in 2019. He was connected to powerful figures across politics, business, and finance. His name is now resurfacing after the US Department of Justice released another batch of documents, where several crypto-related names appeared.
Here’s what stands out:
▪️ Claims about influencing Bitcoin developers
A 2015 letter attributed to Epstein suggests that after the collapse of the Bitcoin Foundation, funding for a small group of core BTC developers was redirected through MIT Media Lab grants. Epstein framed this as gaining indirect influence over Bitcoin development. No proof of actual control has been established.
▪️ Brock Pierce and early crypto exposure
Brock Pierce, co-founder of Tether (USDT), communicated with Epstein between 2011 and 2018. According to released messages, they discussed investments in Coinbase and Blockstream. In a 2018 chat, Epstein allegedly said Pierce “taught me everything about crypto.”
▪️ Epstein’s own view on Bitcoin
Across several years, Epstein expressed skepticism:
2011: “Bitcoin is a brilliant idea, but has serious problems.”
2014: concerns about the transparency of public ledgers.
2017: advised against buying $BTC when asked directly.
▪️ Talks with early Bitcoin figures
In 2016, Epstein claimed he had conversations with Bitcoin founders about designing a digital currency compatible with Sharia law. These statements remain unverified.
▪️ @saylor mentioned incidentally
The Strategy founder appeared in private correspondence as a peripheral figure, described dismissively and without evidence of wrongdoing.
▪️ Blockstream and MIT
In 2014, Epstein invested $50k into Blockstream via an MIT-linked fund as part of a larger $18M round. Adam Back later stated that the relationship ended there.
▪️ CryptoQuant CEO’s take
Ki Young Ju noted that Epstein was aware of Bitcoin early and traded crypto, but never believed in mass adoption. He reportedly saw BTC more as a trading instrument than long-term money.
Important context:
These documents show financial ties and communications, not proof of control over Bitcoin or criminal activity within crypto. The DOJ has stated it does not plan prosecutions based on these disclosures.
The story adds intrigue, but so far it’s more about proximity and speculation than hard evidence.

Exciting week at @ethos_network
1 year live on @base and the team marked it with a solid history thread.
Vibeathon was wild: 105 builders shipped in 96 hours. Winners included Nomos, Ethos Pad, Telegram Noise Canceler, and Ethos Pocket. Real builder energy.
Slashing is getting serious too:
@waleswoosh lost 203 cred after a 92.5% vote, impacting 732 endorsers. One slash failed, requirements dropped to 1400, and new cases are already live.
XP Decision clock is ticking.
3 days left: burn XP for an NFT or stake it in validators.
Ethos keeps tightening the system. Reputation actually means something here.
I’ve got 3 invites to Ethos

Who really holds $Btc today?
• Satoshi Nakamoto still leads with ~1.12M BTC. Effectively out of circulation.
• ETFs scaled fast: BlackRock’s IBIT (~780k BTC) is already among the top holders.
• Corporates matter: MicroStrategy holds ~710k BTC as a long-term treasury asset.
• Exchanges dominate custody: Coinbase, Binance, Bitfinex collectively hold millions of BTC.
• Governments are involved: The US owns ~328k BTC, with sales paused.
• Retail gateways: Robinhood, Kraken, OKX, Gemini remain key access points.
Bottom line:
BTC supply is increasingly concentrated in ETFs, corporates, and governments, while liquid supply keeps tightening. This is no longer a retail-only market
HeyElsa TGE is getting close
Today the @HeyElsaAI team quietly added a new Register tab on their site and once again hinted that the $ELSA token launch is approaching.
To make sure you receive your tokens, you now need to visit the registration page and specify the wallet that will receive rewards.
Important detail:
This is mainly for users who originally logged in with a Solana wallet. Since $ELSA will be launched on Base, Solana users can now link an EVM wallet for claiming rewards.
Even if you already use an EVM wallet, I’d still recommend registering it manually, just to avoid any issues later.
On top of that, ahead of TGE, HeyElsa is running two short contests:
• Video bounty showing Elsa in action. Prize pool $950, deadline in 4 days.
• Twitter bounty about the project. Prize pool $1,000 split across the top 50 posts, also 4 days left.
Feels like things are moving fast. If you’ve been using Elsa, now is probably the moment to double check everything and stay active.
Just a reminder in case someone is pretending to be busy.
@xeetdotai InfoFi Tournament starts on Jan 11, 2026.
Register, complete the task, and don’t overthink it.
What actually works for earning XEETs:
Old vs new
Web2 influencer marketing equals screenshots, vibes, zero accountability.
InfoFi equals identity, attribution, data, rewards. Clear and concrete wins.
Call out real mechanics
Wallet + X linking, sybil resistance, reputation scoring, engagement quality over raw likes, quests, referrals, periodic payouts. Specifics beat hype every time.
Creator POV
Explain how InfoFi changes incentives. You get paid for verified impact, not empty impressions. Signal over noise.
One-line mental model
InfoFi turns attention and distribution into measurable, attributable, and rewardable primitives.
Monero is back on top of the privacy coin sector.
$XMR has climbed above $460, putting it just ~15% below its all-time high of $542 set back in 2015. More importantly, it’s been outperforming other privacy coins for weeks, while confidence in the Zcash ecosystem has clearly weakened.
This move effectively flips the narrative from H2 2025, when the market was betting on $Zec and Monero was dealing with technical issues and reputational noise.
Turns out that when privacy actually matters, the market still gravitates toward the chain that treats it as a feature, not a marketing slogan
