Up until now VCs, insiders and the founding team of private companies always had an unfair advantage over retail investors on IPOs

Due to positioning they are able to get allocation to some of the world's best private companies at discount prices

But now that TradeXYZ launched pre-IPO stock trading, retail actually has one massive advantage over them

IPOs are always timed for when there’s peak hype around the company, they do massive marketing pushes to bring as much exit liquidity as possible, and then capitalize on it

It’s just like how crypto projects launch their tokens at the end of a bullrun at crazy valuations

Which means the ideal scenario for any investor in a private company is to sell everything on IPO day, right at peak hype

But VCs can’t do that, because their allocations are locked up and they have gradual unlocks over time

And on the other hand, with pre-ipo trading retail investors can fully exit their positions at peak hype, while the insiders, the founding team, and the VCs are forced to hold for months to years.
