I would put straw on it. I have been in same situation minus racoon and it solved mud pit issue over fall/winter/spring for dogs.

Maybe consider sod for next year? Not cheap, but is pretty effective and sets you up well. Mine from 5 years ago still holding up

Reminder to stay as vigilant as ever and to share with friends outside of this ecosystem to do the same. A friend who has been integral to the Marfa ecosystem but not natively web 3 got caught up in a @coinbase impersonator call tonight and lost a lot. Many of us have urged friends or family to dip a toe into this ecosystem over the years and it’s often those people who are left most vulnerable to scam attempts. It’s on us to keep them apprised of the risks that evolve with time, especially to those who get more and more removed from the changing tactics of these scumbags and particularly so when companies like CB have massive leaks leaving so many left vulnerable.
