Yesterday I sent a letter formally ending the CFPB’s years long witch hunt against Credova Financial, LLC, which provides financing for firearms.

The Biden-era CFPB weaponized government power against law-abiding companies that are disfavored by the Left.

Even worse, CFPB amped up its assault on Credova, when @DonaldJTrumpJr was announced as a new member of the Board of @officialpsq Public Square, parent of Credova.

On Dec 3, 2024, CNBC at 8:54 AM & Forbes at 8:57 AM reported @DonaldTrumpJr joining board of Public Square.

On same day (Dec 3), after not having any substantive contact with Credova since August 16th regarding its investigation, a CFPB enforcement attorney emailed a proposed Consent Order to Credova at 4:32 pm. It was half-baked and filled with stale information and terms. But this order had crippling financial penalties and injunctive provisions.

CFPB then tried to bully Credova into settling before President Trump was sworn in on January 20th.

Fortunately, PublicSquare @realmichaelseif did not buckle nor cave to these outrageous tactics that sought to punish this company for helping Americans enjoy their 2d Amendment rights and for having a member of the Trump family on its Board.

Shame on the CFPB.

We have seen many terrible abuses by the Biden-era CFPB, but this is one of the worst.

President Trump’s CFPB, under Acting Director @russvought’s superb leadership, has made it a priority to shut down these abusive enforcement actions and also the many burdensome supervisory examinations.

There is much more work to do, but I’m very happy we have shut down CFPB’s assault on Credova.
