🚨House Financial Services marks up H.R. 8957 today at 10 AM ET -- the first committee vote to put a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve into statute🇺🇸

The American Reserve Modernization Act:
🔸Create a Treasury-held BTC reserve within 180 days
🔸Move seized/forfeited Bitcoin into it
🔸Lock reserve BTC for 20 years
🔸Set up separate Digital Asset Stockpile for ETH, XRP, SOL, ADA, and others
🔸Require public proof-of-reserve reporting

Steil Amendment:
Rep. Bryan Steil filed a substitute amendment. If adopted, major changes include the 20-year lock starts from enactment (not each deposit), proof-of-reserve goes annual, and fork/airdrop assets couldn’t be sold for 1 year instead of 5.

This is a markup, not a law. It still needs a House floor vote, Senate passage, and a presidential signature.

Watch whether Democrats on the committee back a statutory national Bitcoin reserve.

The Senate will convene at 10:00 a.m. and resume consideration of the nomination of Matthew Byrne to be a US District Judge for the Southern District of Ohio.

At 11:15 a.m., the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Byrne nomination.

Following the confirmation vote on the Byrne nomination, the Senate will recess until 1:50 p.m. for the weekly caucus luncheons.

At 2:15 p.m., the Senate will vote on cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.3633, Clarity Act.

60 votes are needed to invoke cloture on Clarity Act. Setting a 30-hour clock.

Further votes are possible.
