When community banks are strong, Main Street is stronger. The Main Street Capital Access Act, led by Chairman @RepFrenchHill and @RepAndyBarr, removes barriers to new bank formation and gives local lenders more flexibility to support the families, entrepreneurs, and small businesses they know best.

The number of publicly traded U.S. companies has fallen from 8,800 in 1997 to fewer than 4,000 today. The INVEST Act helps reverse that trend by removing barriers that make it harder for growing companies to access public markets and raise capital.

When there are not enough homes, families feel it in higher prices, fewer choices, and tougher competition. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act helps communities build more housing by cutting unnecessary barriers and updating federal policies that have made construction harder and more expensive.

Thank you @patrickjwitt for your leadership and commitment to advancing the President’s digital asset agenda. Your efforts to move the CLARITY Act forward were critical to ensuring the United States remains a leader in financial innovation. Best wishes in your next chapter.
Serving in this administration has been the privilege of a lifetime.
From helping to stand up the most successful presidential transition in history alongside @howardlutnick and @EDSecMcMahon, to rebuilding our defense industrial base as PTDO Deputy Under Secretary for R&E and then Acting Director of OSC at @DeptofWar, to driving forward President Trump’s vision to make the United States the “crypto capital of the world” as Executive Director of the @WhiteHouse Crypto Council, I consider myself to have been the luckiest guy in the world over these past two years.
First and foremost, I want to thank @POTUS for the opportunity to serve the American people again in your second term. Your clear-eyed vision to ensure the United States remains the undisputed global superpower at this time of unprecedented technological change and geopolitical strife is critical to our nation’s future prosperity.
Second, I want to thank @DavidSacks for your visionary leadership and mentorship. I am so grateful to have been able to work with you and learn from you over the past year. Thank you also to @USWREMichael, James Mazol, @HarryYJung, Nick Elliot, Tyler Williams, @lukejpettit, Jonathan Hurowitz, Andrew Rittenhouse, Michael Friedman, @atitus7, @passalacqua_mj, @willscharf, @JamesCBraid, @MayMailman, Steve Levine, Patrick Butler, Zach Carstens, and countless others across the administration for being the best colleagues anyone could ask for. It was an honor to serve alongside you.
Lastly, thank you to @SECPaulSAtkins and @ChairmanSelig, @SecScottBessent, @USComptroller Gould, @SenatorTimScott, @SenLummis, @SenatorHagerty, @berniemoreno, @JohnBoozman, @SenThomTillis, @RepFrenchHill, and @RepBryanSteil for your partnership in advancing crypto policy over the past year with the passage of the GENIUS Act and our work to advance the CLARITY Act. With regulators and elected officials like you, I rest easy knowing the future of digital asset innovation in America is bright.
Regarding next steps, I’ll have to more to share soon. For now, I’ll say this: I am extremely bullish on America as we embark upon a new golden age of technological advancement across multiple frontiers. I’m grateful to have done my part to unleash American innovation while in government, and I look forward to advancing that same mission in the private sector! 🇺🇸
As a member of @FinancialCmte and Chairman of @HouseSmallBiz, I welcome the OCC’s report on debanking practices and its work to ensure banking decisions are based on objective financial risk, not political bias.
Protecting access to capital is essential for Main Street America.
Today's @USOCC report exposes how far Biden-era debanking went to pressure banks to cut off Americans for their politics, faith, and lawful businesses.
My Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee has exposed this overreach since our first hearing on Operation Choke Point 2.0 and in our report on Biden's debanking of digital assets.
@FinancialCmte is working to end debanking for good. My SAFE Guidance Act stops regulators from using unofficial guidance to pressure banks, and @RepAndyBarr’s FIRM Act permanently ends the "reputation risk" standard Biden regulators used to discourage institutions from banking lawful industries like firearms and crypto.
Thank you to @USComptroller Gould and OCC for their work to expose this overreach, and I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure a future administration cannot repeat Biden’s mistakes.
The Committee applauds @USComptroller and the @USOCC for exposing how Biden-era regulators injected politics into bank supervision and for taking steps to end politically motivated debanking.
We documented these practices in our Operation Choke Point 2.0 report and advanced its recommendations through the House-passed Main Street Capital Access Act. Together, these efforts seek to make bank examination ratings more objective, ensuring supervisory decisions are based on financial risk rather than political bias.
Under the leadership of @POTUS and @SecScottBessent, @USComptroller Jonathan V. Gould is ending the weaponization of finance. Read about the OCC’s supervisory review of debanking activities in its nine largest national banks and its efforts to guarantee fair banking for all Americans. https://t.co/MveW1JnwTH
This week, I joined @FoxNews Live to discuss the findings from my @FinancialCmte Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee report on public housing authorities.
Our investigation found that the Biden Administration allowed housing authorities across the country to fail, leading to unacceptable living conditions and wasting taxpayer dollars. HUD Secretary Turner and President Trump have begun implementing solutions to fix these issues, and I look forward to introducing policy that will address our findings.
Watch my interview here:
For years, the Biden Administration allowed Public Housing Authorities to fail without proper support or oversight. Mismanagement and a lack of accountability at these authorities have wasted taxpayer dollars meant to support our most vulnerable citizens and led to unacceptable living conditions.
As Chair of the @FinancialCmte Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, I have led the effort to fight fraud in taxpayer programs and ensure our tax dollars are spent wisely on those who need them most. Today, I joined the @jfradioshow to discuss my Subcommittee’s year-long investigation into public housing, which uncovered serious mismanagement under the Biden administration. I also outlined the recommendations we made to fix these issues, which the Trump Administration has already begun to implement.
Democrat administrations allowed this problem to fester for far too long. I appreciate Chairman @RepFrenchHill’s leadership, as well as President @realDonaldTrump and HUD @SecTurner for their efforts to enhance federal support for public housing and demand greater accountability.
Today, on World Financial Planning Day, we’re highlighting the importance of giving Americans the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions and reach their financial goals.
Whether it’s buying a home, saving for retirement, or preparing for the unexpected, financial literacy helps people plan with confidence. The Committee remains committed to expanding financial opportunity and helping more Americans build a brighter financial future.
WATCH: Chairman @RepFrenchHill on the Committee’s work to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in public housing:
“When I became Chairman of the Committee, we had seen public housing failures, mismanagement, and corruption right here in Little Rock. It became clear this was a nationwide problem.
"Our most vulnerable citizens depend on the housing voucher program and public housing. We want them safe, sound, and well-managed.
"Subcommittee Chairman @RepMeuser's report uncovers a number of major challenges, some of which will require legislative action. In the new Congress, I’ll be directing our Committee to take that action to improve both the voucher program and public housing in this nation.”
WATCH: Chairman @RepFrenchHill on House Republicans’ work to lower costs for American families:
“House Republicans have had affordability on their minds since President Trump came back to the White House. That’s why we cut taxes on hard-working families to give them more take-home pay and help counter the 20% price increase we saw under the Biden Administration.
"We passed a once-in-a-generation housing bill that, over the next few months and years, will bring new ways to lower the cost of housing construction, make housing more available for more families, and encourage new construction techniques. It will help cities do a better job of lowering development and zoning costs so we can create more apartments and more single-family homes in communities across the country.”
Public housing should provide safe, quality homes. But when housing authorities are mismanaged and oversight fails, it’s the residents who pay the price.
Today, I was joined by HUD Assistant Secretary Ben Hobbs in Little Rock to discuss my Committee’s new report and how we can strengthen accountability across these critical programs.

🚨 NEW: Today, Chairman @RepFrenchHill and @RepMeuser released a new staff report on the challenges facing Public Housing Agencies and opportunities to strengthen accountability, improve oversight, and better serve residents.

Thank you to @BankingGOP Chairman @SenatorTimScott, @FinancialCmte@RepFrenchHill, and @SenatorRounds for joining us on the Hill to discuss the importance of capital formation and the need to advance bipartisan capital formation legislation in the Senate, building on the House-passed INVEST Act.
Strong capital markets mean more investment, innovation, and opportunity.
The Committee thanks Commissioner Hester Peirce for her years of distinguished service to the SEC.
Throughout her tenure, Commissioner Peirce worked closely with the Committee to help advance efforts to support capital formation and establish a clear regulatory framework for digital assets that protects consumers and encourages American-led innovation.
We are grateful for Commissioner Peirce’s service and wish her continued success in the years ahead.
Thrilled to see my Common Cents Act PASS the Senate and head to @POTUS’s desk!
It costs nearly FOUR cents to make just one penny. This legislation will save $85 million per year by permanently ending penny production — it’s common sense!
🚨The Common Cents Act, led by @RepLisaMcClain, just passed the Senate and is headed to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
This bipartisan bill will end penny production, establish cash-rounding rules, and allow Treasury to pursue a more cost-effective nickel.
This commonsense step will cut waste, save taxpayer dollars, and modernize our coinage system.
On July 11, 2026 the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act became law, marking the most significant bipartisan housing legislation in decades.
As a member of @FinancialCmte, I was proud to help advance this legislation, which tackles one of the biggest challenges facing American families: the rising cost of housing.
