I am a feminist,

If you truly know my story, you’ll understand that my life took a radical turn the day I met Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi @bisiafayemi

Contrary to popular belief, no one introduced me to her. She found me. She saw me—right there on stage, diligently doing my MC duties. She saw beyond the moment and chose to mentor me, as I often say, with her characteristic discernment. Since then, by the grace of God, I’ve enjoyed the privilege of her mentorship, her access, her intentional investment in me.

Today, I can boldly say that my journey into mainstream politics traces back to this woman’s influence. Beyond politics, she played a central role in one of the most important decisions of my life—marrying the woman of my dreams. (That, however, is a story for another day.) But make no mistake: I owe a significant chunk of my life’s unfolding to her. She’s not just a mentor; she’s a mother. My mother. And I will always be grateful for the day God brought her into my life.

And on this special day, while celebrating her, I must also publicly thank him—Dr. Kayode Fayemi @kfayemi . We all know that if this great woman was not supported or encouraged by her husband, she might not have had the freedom, strength, or support to shine the way she does. He has been gracious, grounded, and consistent—he has allowed Erelu to be Erelu. And for that, I salute him. I acknowledge the sacrifices he has made behind the scenes and the space he continues to give her to lead with grace and courage.

Erelu, thank you—for everything.
