Today we launched our in-depth research on #HR , workforce, and workplace technology predictions for 2024. We had more than 4,000 HR professionals and consultants join us, and the conversation covers the following:
Theme 1: Labor shortages. Companies must deal with employee activism, hybrid work, pay equity, and leadership development. “Hire to grow” will no longer work, replaced by focus on productivity and redesign. And this low unemployment rate will continue, even if the economy slows.
Theme 2: Organizational transformation. Driven by technology and industry convergence, companies operate with a new dynamic structure, redefining careers, mobility, work arrangements, performance management, HR, and more. New PwC research shows that 60% of CEOs believe their business today will not exist in ten years.
Theme 3: #AI will change everything. Products, companies, work, jobs, and HR. HR teams will be asked to understand AI and lead the training and transformation of roles and data systems. We will see autonomous learning tools, skills-based recruiting, and massive disruption of employee portals and core HR tech with Gen AI.
Theme 4: Employees want more. Employees are speaking up and we must adapt to a new level of activism, empowerment, and feedback. Labor unions will grow, the 4-day week is coming, and companies are going to have to listen to employees more than ever.
