"Donald Trump is a figure of destiny that survived four indictments and two assassination attempts and somehow won this election." "Regime Change" authors Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) and @jonathanvswan on the trust Trump's cabinet puts into his "gut feelings"
The Lessons I Learned from My Dad
I am not the man my father is.
I am trying. Some days closer. Some days farther.
He never sat me down and explained these lessons. He lived them. I’m still learning them.
Show up.
The kitchen table. The hospital room. The funeral. The picket line. The call from the son who won’t answer.
Show up.
Most days that’s the whole job.
My whole life I watched him do it. Not for cameras. Not for headlines. Not because there was something in it for him. He showed up because someone needed him.
I learned that grief doesn’t make you special.
My father buried a wife and daughter. He buried a son. Yet he never treated grief as a claim on other people’s sympathy. Instead, it made him notice theirs.
A mother who lost a child. A father sitting beside a hospital bed. A kid scared about what comes next. A son who lost his mother, his sister, his brother.
He always noticed.
I learned that power is not the point.
The people who chase power eventually confuse the office with themselves.
My father never did.
Whether he was a county councilman, a senator, vice president, or president, he was the same man.
The title changed.
He didn’t.
I learned that family comes first.
The train from Wilmington wasn’t symbolism.
It was every night.
He read to us. Showed up to games. Sat through hospital rooms. Waited up for children who were lost.
And when the day came that the country and the family could not both have him at full strength, he chose family. He relinquished the last chapter of how he wanted to be remembered. And he never complained about it.
Most of all, I learned that love is not soft.
Love is discipline.
Love is showing up at one in the morning when nobody is watching.
Love is answering the phone.
Love is staying.
Love is getting back up after life knocks you down and doing it all again tomorrow.
That love saved my life.
I’ve failed at many of these lessons, sometimes in very public ways.
He loved me anyway.
That’s the last lesson.
I am not trying to become my father.
I am trying to carry what he gave me.
And if I can do that, even imperfectly, that will be enough.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I love you.
Sheryl Crow speaks out after Trump’s UFC 250 event: “To stay quiet means to turn a blind eye. And so I am saying this. What happened last night on the lawn of the White House was disgraceful and void of decency. Powerful, rich people filled the lawn to watch a violent sport that ended with a vile and racist comment. All while the average American cannot afford healthcare, gas, and cost of living. Do not be fooled. This administration is corrupt and does not give a damn about the American people. It only cares about making money hand over fist at the expense and in spite of our democracy. If we continue to support this kind of distraction from reality, we are no better than them. Let's be better, America.”
De Niro: I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser.
I can’t love a country that starts stupid and inhumane wars, killing thousands of innocents and indirectly causing the deaths and suffering of millions more.
I can’t love a country that takes healthcare away from millions of people and uses that money to enrich their pals in the Trump-Epstein class.
I can’t love a country that sends out masked militias to shoot citizens in the streets, torture our neighbors, and separate families.
I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant.
And let me just say it: I can’t love a country that’s led by Donald Trump and his sycophant Congress.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support that @MichelleObama has poured into me over the years. Her story — from her South Side roots to the White House and beyond — is a central part of the Obama Presidential Center.
‼️ This is Trump’s Watergate Moment.
For months the Vice President, White House Chief of Staff, Pam Bondi, Todd Blanche, Kash Patel and other top officials colluded in the Situation Room to break the law and BURY the Epstein investigation.

Good morning and Happy Wednesday to everyone who agrees that the audio of Speaker Johnson ADMITTING that he's planning on cutting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security SHOULD BE A HUGE STORY.
Don't let him slide on this.
BREAKING: Fox News Just Spent 3 Straight Minutes Airing A Detailed Case For Corruption Inside The Trump Administration.
Think about that.
This wasn’t MSNBC.
This wasn’t CNN.
This was Fox News.
Rep. Jamie Raskin walked viewers through what he says is a pattern of corruption, conflicts of interest, and abuse of power inside the administration.
And Fox aired the entire thing.
When even Fox can no longer avoid the conversation, it suggests the story has become too large to simply ignore.
How many can say this:
New Yorker, February 2026:
$4.05 billion in family take from ventures that exist because he’s president.
Forbes:
his net worth went from $3.9 billion to $7.3 billion by September 2025. Nearly doubled in eight months.
Wall Street Journal:
$4 billion in proceeds and paper wealth from ventures launched since his re-election.
House Oversight Democrats’ wealth tracker:
$5.1 billion in new family money.
Bloomberg:
crypto alone added $1.4 billion in a single year. One-fifth of the family fortune now sits in digital assets that didn’t exist the first time he ran.
All that work is really paying off.
