"Someday when we have Nuremberg kind of trail, then we will have the Eichmanns and Bormans & Gill will be in the dock that day."
- Ravi Nair (Human Rights Lawyer, not a Khalistani supporter)
Everyone is wrong except Bal's mama who couldn't even keep it in his pants.
Many Sikhs believe the true death toll was 10 to 20 times higher than officially acknowledged, running into six figures. There were villages in the Majha region where no males remained in certain households, as all the men had been eliminated by the Punjab Police through fake encounters.
I was studying in Khalsa College Amritsar when your Dad was Principal. And I recall those terrifying days in great detail. The firing exchanges on the campus, ducking in our classes to miss any flying bullets, CRPF patrolling the college corridors, occupying students hostels.
The harassment at BSF nakas, the questioning at Khalistani check points in Ajnala, the random face to face with AK-47/Mauser toting militants. The fear.

Watching ‘Satluj’, my thoughts travel back 30 years, remembering that time when my brother and his friend were picked up for a fake encounter from outside their study centre. His friends rushed home to inform my father, who was Principal Khalsa College, Amritsar then…a hub of terrorism. We used to stay inside campus and were privy to extremism up close and front with murders occurring every other day on campus. Huddling in one room when firing would begin to coming out to blood laden roads after it stopped was common for us. I had experienced 1984 from being a toddler to my teenage years and remember vividly my father’s expression and the way he ran and took his scooter out and rushed from home on hearing this. My mother crying her eyes out. My heart sank. Even at that age I understood everything. We knew what it meant having a member of family being picked up. We knew we may never see him again. We knew if we’re lucky, we may get to see the dead body.
My brother had presence of mind. He kept saying to them that he is son of Principal Khalsa College. They didn’t care. He began narrating names of high-ups of Amritsar like DC, SSP etc asking them to verify from these people about his identity as they frequent our home often. Those who had picked him up slowed down their gypsy and asked a few questions. By that time they had reached some fields. My brother responded to each question and then it dawned on them that he is genuinely son of someone important and better not kill him. They threw the boys out and finally both my brother and his friend reached home.
He reached home…..thousands and lacs didn’t! And thats a truth many don’t want to hear!

Just saw SATLUJ and it is not a film , but a deep wound that will never heal. It stirs up the sludge in one of the darkest chapters of our history
This is cinema used as confrontation , where @diljitdosanjh acts with a quiet fury with no chest thumping heroism.. His only weapons are a ledger and a conscience. @rampalarjun adds layers of moral rot in the institutional complicity that feels chillingly realistic
Director @honeytrehan instead of sensationalising the horror unfolds the film like a slow burn investigative thriller through bureaucratic files, cremation records, and hushed conversations
This restraint makes the brutality of the subject matter hit that much harder because it explodes with the force of truth and not exploitation.
The philosophical core of the film about how a democracy devours its own citizens and then tries to erase the evidence is explored without any preachiness and that’s no normal
achievement .
The various issues surrounding its exhibition and publication prove that any art which makes the powerful uncomfortable has done its job, and that is the true purpose of true art , which SATLUJ is .
It is highly courageous essential filmmaking because it unsettles, educates, and lingers . In the times where main stream chases spectacle and popcorn cinema , SUTLEJ shoots out a hard reminder of what cinematic medium can truly achieve when it takes on truth and honesty
SATLUJ is a film that has to be seen , shown, discussed, debated and not ENCOUNTERED like the victims in the film
My appeal to all the powers is , please don’t do to SATLUJ what has been done to JASWANT SINGH KALRA 🙏🙏🙏
TRUTH HITS HARDER when one tries to HIDE IT .

I have studied in Punjab when things were happening. I have seen / heard of cases when innocent boys were picked up framed and killed for awards.

Incidentally I was also picked up by Punjab Police while returning home on a scooter. I was returning after night studies at my friend’s place. My friend’s father was a serving army officer and my friend rose to the rank of a brigadier.
I was kept in a lock up for 14 odd hours. Police was linking me to Jagjit Singh Chauhan. I was Released only after my father intervened. Dad had to despatch his second in command to Chandigarh and get Roberio’s intervention for the release.
Not many were lucky as I was. Not all had their dads highly placed. Infact the majority was anonymous and in the No man’s land.
Many terrorists and their sympathisers must have been eliminated but a large numbers exist were the victims of Honour & Award system of the state.
My bhua's pind is Chabhal, where SSP Ajit Singh Sandhu, the character Sugga in the film Satluj, was in charge of the thana. The fear he instilled in that whole pind and nearby pinds cannot be described. Dad used to tell me that when kids reached 15 or 16, they were told not to leave the house, even to go to the market. Most were sent to out-of-state relatives because he would just have his staff pick them up and conduct fake encounters on a weekly basis. So much so that our bhua's khet would have two or three bodies picked up with all their blood all over the fasal and dumped in a nehar (canal) nearby #panjab95 ( devil's pic below) for more info read this https://t.co/0LKbUlhgKE
🚨 Manchester United is the most special club in the world!
Just look at the emotion from Casemiro’s wife Anna when talking about Manchester United. 🥺❤️
[@UtdKev08]
Cristiano Ronaldo is not even a top 5 United legend of all time. Fuck outta here with that bullshit. When he was at Madrid at the peak of his powers, he and his agent flirted with us every single time using us as leverage for a bigger contract. Not once not twice. For 2021, he had already agreed to join our rivals Manchester City before Fergie made that phone call. You guys have selective amnesia with the guy, una Dey craze!
A policy affecting 140 crore people; signed at 8PM, announced at a press conference the next morning.
No White Paper. No Parliamentary debate. No public consultation. No independent impact study.
Just a minister, a pen, and a family business waiting on the other side.
Let’s talk about what this “policy” actually is:
→ Son Nikhil’s company Cian Agro: ₹18Cr → ₹523Cr revenue in one year
→ Their stock: ₹37 → ₹638. A 2,184% surge; while “the file” was being drafted
→ Son Sarang: Director at Manas Agro. Also in ethanol. Also quietly booming.
Father writes the regulations. Sons hold the equity.
And we’re supposed to call this a “national dream.”
In any functioning democracy, a minister with direct family financial interests in a sector CANNOT unilaterally regulate that sector.
That’s not politics, that’s a constitutional principle.
Where is the Lokpal?
Where is the Prime Minister?
Where is the Parliament?
The dream isn’t about ethanol.
The dream is about a country where accountability has been fully, quietly, abolished.
So Russia is banned from FIFA because of their invasion of Ukraine, but America is allowed to HOST THE FIFA GAMES WHILE BOMBING IRAN???
HOW DOES THAT WORK?????
One of our greatest ever, signing off.
Kane Williamson has announced his retirement from international cricket effective immediately.

When Russia hosted the World Cup in 2018, it had to suspend normal visa rules for the tournament. Foreigners with tickets could enter visa-free, using a scheme called ‘Fan ID.’
Russia also had to do weird stuff to keep FIFA’s sponsors happy. For example, small shops near Fan Zones and stadiums could only sell Budweiser beer on match days.
So yes, FIFA absolutely does dictate conditions to host governments when it suits FIFA. Infantino pretending otherwise is nonsense.
Presenting #TeamIndia's newest T20I captain 🇮🇳
Congratulations to Shreyas Iyer as he takes the helm in the shortest format of the game 👏
