During his recent appearance on @ShawnRyanShow, Fr. Chad Ripperger explained that “St. Michael is actually the guardian angel of the elect,” meaning those whom God knows will persevere unto the end in His grace and thus be saved (cf. Matt. 10:22, 24:13).

“Because he’s the guardian angel of the elect,” Fr. Ripperger went on, “that also means that he became the guardian angel of the Jews — the Jewish religion — in the beginning, because they were the chosen people. But once, according to the Fathers of the Church, they apostatized and rejected Christ, they ceased being the chosen religion and the chosen people, and now it’s transferred to Christians who believe in Christ.”

Regarding the Jews, Fr. Ripperger emphasized “the big mistake that people make is still thinking that the Jews are the chosen people. They were,” he said, “but they rejected their inheritance. They refused to accept Christ.”
