It took a white man to say the obvious. This is exactly what the President of South Africa should have said. The moral confusion, cowardly politics and disgraceful conduct we are seeing from some Black South Africans is becoming impossible to ignore. Imagine needing a white man to defend Black people properly. Sadly, that is often how low the bar has fallen. Yes Malema has been doing it, but he is not in government.
The International Commission of Jurists calls on President Cyril Ramaphosa, the South African police and relevant government agencies to protect non-citizens, dismantle vigilante networks and uphold South Africa’s constitutional and international human rights law obligations.
🚨 TRAVEL MORE, LEARN MORE!
"South African youth need to start travelling and learning from other African countries." — Minister Ronald Lamola.
Sometimes the best education isn't in a classroom, it's across the border. Africa is full of innovation, entrepreneurship and opportunities.
The more we travel, the more we understand our continent, build networks and change our mindset.
A passport can be one of the best investments a young person makes. 🌍✈️

Zimbabwe's impact on South Africa's economy is so wild that, if it went away today, it'd cause unemployment in South Africa to rise by a full 4%.
This is out of a study we've just concluded for a multinational that's looking to "diversify risk" out of SA.
Last year Zimbabwe sent US$4 billion to South Africa for official imports.
That's roughly equivalent to A THIRD of South Africa's total exports to her largest trading partner (China: ~US$12 billion. Not bad for a country (Zim) of only 16 million people,
It's also roughly 1% of South Africa's entire GDP for 2025 that was exported to Zim, officially.
The actual total Zim spent on imports from SA is about US$7 billion, since smuggled goods from South Africa are conservatively calculated to be about ¾ of official imports in value.
During the same period, South Africa imported only ~US$400 million in Zim goods.
Already, some South Africa companies are being impacted so heavily they're begging @CyrilRamaphosa's @MYANC to batten down the hatches & impose illegal protectionist measures on Zim👇
Dinson Steel in Zim has led to the shutdown of ArcelorMittal SA. Sunny Yi Feng's tiles out of Zimbabwe have seen Italtile crying foul after their turnover was impacted heavily.
If Zim's useless @Min_of_IC were to take the China/Singapore approach to Industry/Commerce that I've been advocating for years now, it'd be catastrophic for SA, @edmnangagwa@MthuliNcube01@matigary@Mavhure@mimmitwit
It is profoundly heartbreaking to witness another surge of xenophobic violence in #SouthAfrica this week. Hundreds have marched on Parliament, thousands of families have been displaced, and lives have been tragically cut short.
These include at least five Ethiopians killed earlier in the attacks, and five Mozambicans who died in Mossel Bay. Thousands more are now fleeing for their lives.
To see South Africa turn to xenophobia is a tragic betrayal of the country's struggle for independence and freedom. African nations stood united to dismantle apartheid. Ethiopia proudly supported "Madiba," Nelson Mandela, in 1962 and issued him a passport so he could travel the continent. Other countries helped in many ways, including with political and financial support.
Disagreements and grievances must be addressed by the justice system and the rule of law, never through vigilante violence and collective punishment.
South Africa deserves better. Africa deserves better.
Stop the hate. Protect the vulnerable. Uphold our shared humanity.
But comrades your side once called Africans "international orphans" for supporting Springboks at the world cup. [Immigration issue aside] You have been long instigating for Africans not to support SA🇿🇦 on sports. You also mock genuine gestures of support, it was long coming
