I know teachers go to work for their students… but they should never underestimate the impact they have on their colleagues. Their attitude and energy can inspire the adults around them. So they make a difference for kids they don’t even teach!
The love of reading is an endangered species.
Just 16% of Americans do regular leisure reading—down from 28% in 2003. 41% of UK parents read daily to their toddlers—down from 64% in 2012.
Books aren't only a source of flow. They're a gateway to empathy and lifelong learning.
Happiness is not about reaching your goals. It's about aligning your goals with your values.
Progress without purpose is empty. Achievement without impact is fleeting.
Success is most rewarding when it serves the people and principles that matter to you.
When kids are deprived of play, their mental health suffers.
Over the past 50 years, the time kids spend playing outside and inside has plummeted. They're missing opportunities to bond, build self-control, be creative, and feel joy.
Free play is a key to happiness and growth.

First, love them
Then learn them.
We don't love labels.
We love learners.
Love, believe & challenge ALL kids.
No excuses.
We pay too much attention to the most confident voices—and too little attention to the most thoughtful ones.
Certainty is not a sign of credibility. Speaking assertively is not a substitute for thinking deeply.
It's better to learn from complex thinkers than smooth talkers.

It isn't always best to speak up right away. Strategic silence can amplify your voice.
Evidence: people are more likely to be heard when they wait until (a) the issue is relevant, (b) they’re ready, and (c) the audience is responsive.
Fools rush in. Wise people bide their time.
Looking for the good in others doesn’t make you naive. It means you’re not cynical.
Recognizing people’s strengths doesn’t deny their flaws. It reveals their potential to overcome their flaws.
Those who refuse to see the good in others fail to bring out the best in others.
It’s enjoyable to learn from others. It’s invigorating to learn with others.
A good conversation opens your eyes to new thoughts. A great conversation opens your mind to new ways of thinking.
