@adamhjk I have to come clean and say that until a few years ago, I thought Mama Kin was a GnR jam. Then the Aerosmith original popped up on a playlist and I was 🤯. It decayed my confidence in everything I knew to be true.
In an era where media has completely lost the script on journalism, @verge takes the first step back towards ethics and sanity in reporting!! Congratulations on your leadership. I hope your colleagues and competitors are taking notice. #journalism#ethics#TruthMatters
Today we’re updating The Verge’s policy on agreeing to “background” from tech companies. We’re doing this publicly to provide cover for other newsrooms covering tech to do the same. It’s getting a little ridiculous out there. https://t.co/kCJLzFn7RX
This is going to work. Intel has everything to win. Gelsinger will go down a legend. Probably need to buy intel once it hits bottom ad hold for a decade. https://t.co/XJNpdcu8y4
Hey @satyanadella and @natfriedman - here’s how you monetize VS Code. 1. Stop producing proprietary plugins - it’s all open source. 2. Make VS Code derivatives that are tightly integrated and supported. (See also JetBrains). These you sell for $$, but vet and support.
@adamhjk@jasoncwarner Who’d have thought that a discussion about Rawls would have lead us to that endpoint? I love my memories of that part of our collaboration!
@adamhjk@jasoncwarner I am running a .NET shop at Symend now, and feel a lot of disappointment and concern about that now. I guess I’ll be having a convo with my MSFT team next week looking for some indication that they are committed to the investment I’ve put into my .NET code base.
@adamhjk@jasoncwarner How can they flush it away by listening to some entrenched old MSFT leaders that missed the last decade? There is only 1 company that has a chance to take the fragmented IDE/Dev lifecycle space and reunite it and they can’t see past their own shortsightedness.
@adamhjk@jasoncwarner But when they finally woke up and went all in on Azure/Cloud and abandoned monetizing the OS, I was sure they had turned the corner. They were on the precipice of turning the dev tools world back into a winner take all opportunity with VS Code.
