Beginning on or after Wednesday, May 20, three I-71/75 ramps in Covington will close long-term as construction advances on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor (@BSBCorridor) Project. Here's what to know:
I-71/75 Southbound On-Ramp from Bullock Road/MLK Jr. Blvd. — Closes May 20 at 7 a.m. Detour via Pike St./Dixie Highway to get onto I-71/75 southbound via Kyles Lane. On-ramp and Bullock to reopen late October 2026; 12th St. access from Bullock remains closed through duration of the project.
I-71/75 Northbound Exit 191 to 12th St./MLK Blvd./Pike St. — Closes May 20 at 7 a.m. Detour I-71/75 NB 5th Street exit ramp, turn left (north) onto Philadelphia Street, then left onto 4th Street west to the I-71/75 southbound ramp to MLK Blvd. Northbound exit ramp reopens summer 2027.
I-71/75 SB to W. 5th St. — Closes on or after May 26. Exit 192 SB off ramp, which splits to either W. 5th St. or Crescent Ave.; the 5th St. portion will close permanently; Exit 192 SB to Crescent Ave. will remain open. Detour will follow Crescent north to W. 3rd St. heading east.
