The topic that set #LaxTwitter ablaze. 😬
@TerenceFoy reported that several sources said Booker Corrigan DID NOT make the actual call on the field. On-field officials made the call after reviewing film on an iPad at the scorers table, which was later confirmed.
@CoachMattYHS@College_Crosse@fieldystick@AaronYeagher 1,000 people still wouldn’t watch at $5.. If it were $5 you’d still be complaining. Weve made some contributions to Urbana lacrosse over the years by the way, maybe we can discuss this on the phone or in person
@CoachMattYHS@College_Crosse@fieldystick@AaronYeagher 1. You can’t do it for $5k. That’s not reality. 2. How about the camera guys, are you gonna pay them? 3. Travel (hotels, flights, etc.) 4. Streaming outlet costs - the platform, the app, the infrastructure. 5. How about the time and energy of the people who work on it?
@CoachMattYHS@College_Crosse@fieldystick@AaronYeagher Nobody’s making $20k off any college lacrosse broadcast. Sorry to disappoint you. If we make money with the current pay wall, that’s a plus. This is a ridiculous assertion
@bbuonanno88@College_Crosse Right, but have ya been following along here about the financial burdens for neutral site games? Those outlets dont offer that production up at no cost. It’s not feasible for the organizer to do that.
@CoachMattYHS@College_Crosse@fieldystick@AaronYeagher No, 4 cameras, instant replay our coverage is not terrible. You haven’t seen hs broadcasts that are better (unless it was a substantial championship game) do you have any idea how much money CSE Net or someone like us would lose with your proposed pricing? Just a guess
Honestly @CSE_Net is the only one who consistently brings Big Time D1 Lacrosse to non hotbed locations. Where I got to watch 200 Hofstra Games growing up, i coach Juniors in HS who never seen a live D1 Game.
@College_Crosse@fieldystick@AaronYeagher That is not feasible or fair for an event organizer (making money basically exclusively off ticket sales) to pay for among all the other expenses. You don’t know what you’re talking about, and you’re speaking with some false sense of authority. You are wrong.
@College_Crosse@fieldystick@AaronYeagher Yes! BUT the infrastructure for that is at the schools, the programs have reasons to not play all their games at the schools. Therefore you get a situation like this - so the event organizer has to eat the $15k, $20k, $35k (to your standard evidently) production bill?
