Imagine being the best team in the East, +2 in the special teams battle against the Avs going into the 3rd period and realizing it just isn't nearly enough.
They're just. So. Good. Everywhere. Else. #GoAvsGo
I was pretty hard on CMac when the Rantanen deal came through and I still stand behind some of what I said.
If I’m being honest tho the way things have played out since, I think he made a wise move.
Mikko’s representation is seemingly dead set on hitting the open market and making whoever has his contract this season deal with that uncertainty.
Both the Hurricanes and Avalanche tried to make him the highest paid winger ever.

I’m just so confused as to how this all shook out. Can’t believe there’s not a world where they could have agreed on 8x12.5m. 100k below Nate Dogg and you win the game of life. No risk. No chaos in moving your life getting adjusted to everything new. Play with the best player in the world who you’ve been incredible with. Even at 12m why even risk it. Crazy stuff and pour communication to not keep the band together. #GoAvsGo
I’ve been reflecting on this over the past day or so, and I’ve come to a realization.
Many of my friends on the center-right who are upset with me for making what I believe to be very obvious observations aren’t necessarily angry at me—they’re angry at the implications of what I’m saying.
The idea that neo-Nazism has entered the mainstream, potentially influencing the White House, is so alarming and existentially terrifying that it's easier to lash out at the messenger than confront the reality.
If they accept this, it means that the political home they've invested so much of their identity in, the movement they've championed for years, has become something so morally repugnant that accepting it feels like breaking their own brain.
The cognitive dissonance is overwhelming.
What's striking to me is the selective outrage. Many of these same people are quick to call everyone communists, often with little more than circumstantial evidence.
Yet, when it comes to countless instances of glaringly obvious signs of fascism in their own movement, they either look away or attack those pointing it out.
