What Republican lawmakers said H.R. 1 would do: "Preserve SNAP for those who truly need it."
What it actually did: Tied up limited state capacity with complex & burdensome new requirements, causing families with kids to lose benefits because no one answers the phone.
.@AsmWicks: Make behavioral health care more accessible and affordable for your constituents by voting YES on #AB2551.
Residents of #AD14 - like this mother of two who is also supporting a parent - have stories to share about their struggles accessing care:
All eyes on @CAGovernor with his May Revision coming up tomorrow. We’re calling on the Governor to reverse his January #CABudget proposal to cut 200,000 vulnerable immigrants from Medi-Cal. He must stand by our state’s values and fight for #Health4All & #OurHealthOurFuture!
Congress should be strengthening SNAP, not advancing a Farm Bill that leaves devastating cuts in place. Millions of people could lose benefits while states take on new administrative costs. Tell your Members to reject this bill: https://t.co/855xcC4TSv
Really nice to see @brysondech slap fans' hands on the way to sign his scorecard after what was certainly not the finish he wanted on 18 today at @TheMasters. He's matured so much. Next time.
@TheCW_Sports when the USBC has a new rule that certain balls cannot be used, it would be great if the commentators would explain that instead of just griping about 'low performance balls' for an entire 2 hr show.
@DamonUnofficial Def hoping 'Cracker Island' comes on rotation during the tour. Seeing you in Oakland in Oct! Saw Night 2 at Palladium w/my 12 y.o. SO AWESOME
Yet here we are, with a House Agriculture Committee farm bill that still leaves victims with no way to get their stolen SNAP benefits replaced & still leaves states with an even steeper price tag for more secure payment methods because of H.R. 1's funding cuts.
CAFB urges @RepAdamGrayCA@RepJimCosta@RepCarbajal to vote NO on the House Chairman’s Farm Bill. We must reverse H.R. 1’s SNAP cuts and cost shifts!

On average, "families would have to earn 176.5% more than they do now to meet the federal affordability threshold" 🤯
The solution? Legislation at the state and federal levels that treats #childcare as a public good 👏👏

@SacPolice We live in the area and saw six cops with lights and sirens coming in from all directions on our way home this evening - could tell it was something major! Thx for posting.
Take Action! States can't absorb the SNAP benefit costs, and administrative burdens shifted to them by H.R. 1. These provisions put access to food at risk for millions. Congress must #stopthatSNAPshift as part of the FY26 appropriations process. Act now: https://t.co/8SXQsXfIXz
Jokes aside, understanding the reality of how Americans eat - and how difficult it is for millions to afford even these basics without the help of critical programs like SNAP - seems like it should be a basic requirement for those running the programs.
