Really emotional day today. Saying goodbye not only to my amazing Y6 class but also to the whole @stjdinnington community. Extremely proud of what i’ve achieved since joining as an early careers teacher. Excited to start my next chapter as Deputy Head.
What an amazing day at @stjdinnington .
Starting off with how proud we are of our Y6s and their SATs results.
Followed by a beautiful Y6 Leavers Mass and to end with our curriculum showcase afternoon. Some outstanding work on display!
Great workshop from @MaryJenkinson7 and Maddie Young about developing book talk in EYFS and KS1. Really engaging and lots of practical examples. Very important point about children being able to see themselves reflected in the books they read. #OURfPConf
@MaryJenkinson7 from @stjdinnington and Maddie Young are leading an EY/KS1 workshop at the 16 March #OURfPConf in Nottingham 📚💙 They will be talking about how to engage families, growing together through book blether. Do join us! https://t.co/UrxeR2TYNx

Can teachers who already have quite a lot of expertise in teaching benefit from coaching?
I think so for three reasons 🧵:
(A thread that should have been a blog - please stick with me!)
"Skills vs knowledge" is one of the most significant debates in education.
Yesterday, one of the creators of a flagship skills-based curriculum admitted it's not possible to teach skills without knowledge.
Hugely important for education globally.

Wow! These are just stunning. Yr 2/3 children and families had a great time during our Creative Clocks Family Learning @stjdinnington Lots of creative skills developed and a very cool clock to support the children in learning tell the time. Well done everyone who came along. #fun
We know that to achieve powerful teaching that changes lives, #teachers need to have strong subject knowledge, the best evidence-based subject pedagogies, rigorous assessment and effective planning, all working together.
