Deploying Go applications can be a little challenging, but we have partnered with Sevalla to show you how they are making it simpler and quicker.
In the video below, @cshep_4 deploys a Go gRPC service in minutes with no configuration changes.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
I recently launched a course, "Building Production-Ready Services with gRPC and Go". It covers everything from the basics, all the way up to deploying on Kubernetes.

If you've used gRPC before, what did you build with it?

We've been building a platform for running containers on Cloudflare. It already powers Workers AI & more in production. Here's a first look at how it's built, why we built it, and how we use it. https://t.co/HrH76z2nLs #BirthdayWeek

Production-Ready services with gRPC and Go just launched!
This has been the most requested course for bytesizeGo, and @cshep_4 has done an amazing job in delivering.
The course has over 11 hours of videos (exercises are in addition), starting from the basics and ending by replying gRPC services to Kubernetes with mTLS enabled.
30% off this week only with code GRPC30

It's been a while since I built something end to end, so this weekend I shipped an uptime monitor. Cannot believe how productive the stack is, and it allowed me to move so fast. You can play around with what I made here: https://t.co/YVo5JBWKx2 (it's an uptime monitoring site). Its a little rough around the edges, but not bad for a weekends works!
Stuff I used:
- Go (obviously)
- HTMX
- @tailwindui (for styling)
- @getsentry (for error reporting)
- @MailerSend (for email sending, when your site is down)
- @stripe (for payments, don't expect anyone to pay but I wanted to see what this flow looks like these days).
- @tursodatabase (made product ionising SQLite a breeze)
- @flydotio (for deploying my containers)
- @mixpanel (for analytics).
- @Cloudflare (domain name, CDN, TLS).
- Hugo for blogging (although not used it yet)
- Air for the hot reload server.
With moderate usage, I expect this site with no paying customers to cost me ~$5 a month.
Reminder: the waitlist for Building Production-Ready Services with gRPC and Go https://t.co/jejPyYnqsT is now open.
This has been by far the most requested topic, and the depth @cshep_4 has gone to means you really will leave the course knowing everything you need to and quite a lot more.
As always, join the waitlist here to receive a discount when the course launches shortly.

First, we throw back to the 13th of June!
And now, we have some news: bit summit 5.0 will focus on Data Science and will take place on the 5th of September.
Stay tuned for further details! 👀
We're excited to announce the public beta of Bufstream, a drop-in replacement for Apache Kafka that's 10x less expensive to operate and brings Protobuf-first data governance to the rest of us.

Today I'm proud to launch the second course on bytesizego, The Art of Command Line Interfaces with Go by @mmontagnino.
Nobody has spent more time thinking about, writing about and talking about how to make amazing Command Line Interfaces (CLI) applications in Go than the course author, Marian. I'm confident this is the most comprehensive course on CLIs with #golang that exists.

Today I'm proud to announce the launch of my first self-published book Foundations of Debugging for Golang
Being able to debug locally and in production is a critical skill for any #golang engineer, but it is rarely taught explicitly.
It has taken me many years of working with Go in production to get comfortable debugging, and I want to accelerate your learning by teaching you everything I wish I had known when I started out.
What You'll Learn
👉 How to get better at spotting issues by eye.
👉 Logging patterns and how to build an enterprise logging strategy.
👉 What are metrics, how to create them and how to build great dashboards.
👉 What distributed tracing is, and how to set it up in your company.
👉 How to use Go's profiling tools to debug performance issues use and squeeze every ounce of performance out of your application.

When I started byteSizeGo, I always wanted it to be bigger than just me. Over the past few months it has been a pleasure to partner with @mmontagnino and I'm so excited that her course The Art of Command Line Interfaces is nearly ready for launch!
Nobody has spent more time thinking about, writing about and talking about how to make amazing Command Line Interfaces (pronounced clee) applications in Go than @mmontagnino and this course really does cover everything (I learnt a ton watching it).
You can join the waitlist here https://t.co/KewdhjJa2U and there will be a special discount for you when we're ready.
