We have launched a petition urging Pakistan's Minister of Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, to intervene and safely return Neha Faqir to her grieving family.
The 18-year-old Christian woman was abducted and forcibly converted to Islam, after leaving her home for a local sewing class on March 24.
With the help of a CSI-engaged lawyer, her family traced her to a madrassa in Lahore, discovering she had been converted to Islam just days after vanishing – despite being entirely illiterate and never having expressed any interest in changing her faith.

Today marks the third anniversary since the entire Armenian Christian population of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) was forcefully driven from its ancestral homeland by Azerbaijan.
Christian Solidarity International joins Armenian and international human rights organizations, civil society groups, and experts to defend international law and demand the immediate release of all Armenian political hostages, the protection of ancient Christian heritage sites under threat of destruction, the end to religious persecution, and the safe, dignified implementation of the right of return.

Three Years On: The Ethnic Cleansing of Artsakh
A joint statement by Armenian and international human rights organisations, civil society groups and experts

Three years ago this month, the entire Armenian population of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) was driven from its ancestral homeland by Azerbaijan. We, the undersigned, mark this anniversary to insist that their expulsion was not an accident of war, and that it is not over. We call on the international community, including the United States, European Union, Council of Europe and the United Nations, to hold Azerbaijan to account.
1915 marked the start of the Armenian Genocide, when the Armenians of the Ottoman Empire were persecuted as a people through massacre and deportation, their traces effaced and the crime denied by its perpetrators. Azerbaijan’s attack on Artsakh in 2023 obeyed the same logic. From December 2022, Azerbaijan closed the Lachin (Berdzor) Corridor, subjecting some 120,000 people to nine months of siege without adequate food, medicine or fuel. On 19 September 2023 it launched a military assault on that starved population. Within a week virtually every Armenian in Artsakh had fled, and the Republic of Artsakh was dissolved. Not one has been permitted to return.
A population was expelled, its institutions dissolved, its churches and cemeteries forcibly abandoned and targeted for destruction, and the whole undertaking recast by Azerbaijan as a lawful internal matter. While the means and methods of the Armenian Genocide have changed, the objective – the negation of the Armenian people as a nation and their right to self-determination – has not.
The international community responded with shock. The European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the United States Congress each passed resolutions. Foreign ministries spoke out against the ethnic cleansing. There were calls for independent international investigations. On 17 November 2023, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered Azerbaijan, in binding provisional measures, to ensure that those who left Artsakh after 19 September 2023 can return in a safe, unimpeded and expeditious manner, and to protect and preserve their registration, identity and private property records. That order – like the ICJ’s order of 22 February 2023 requiring Azerbaijan to lift the initial blockade – remains unimplemented, and Azerbaijan has borne no cost for ignoring it.
Instead, Western governments have sought to quietly normalise the new political status quo as part of broader geopolitical considerations. The recent visit to Artsakh by Western ambassadors and envoys, among them the United States Chargé d’Affaires and the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, served only to lend that normalisation the appearance of legitimacy and to deepen the injury done to those expelled from the territory. The desire to support peace, trade and energy partnerships in the region is legitimate. But peace and economic development can never be built on the permanent exclusion of a whole population from its ancestral homeland.
Azerbaijan continues to hold the leaders and officials it seized from Artsakh as hostages. In February 2026, after closed military-court proceedings, Baku sentenced sixteen of them – among them the former presidents Arayik Harutyunyan, Bako Sahakyan and Arkadi Ghukasyan, and the former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan – to terms ranging from fifteen years to life. Amnesty International called their convictions “nothing short of a travesty” and “an affront to all victims of crimes under international law.” With the Baku office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) closed at the behest of Azerbaijan, independent access to these prisoners has all but ended.
The authorities of the Republic of Armenia bear their own responsibility for encouraging Azerbaijan’s campaign against the Armenian people. Rather than defend the rights of the displaced, the government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has advanced an ideology of “Real Armenia”, which has removed Artsakh from official discourse. Pashinyan is forcing the dispossessed to give up their right of return, and to forget the land and ancient heritage from which they were driven. The displaced of Artsakh have been left in penury. Tens of thousands in Armenia remain without secure housing or stable work, and cuts to state support have deepened their destitution. Integration, offered as a substitute for return, has meant abandonment of their true home.
This policy has been accompanied by mounting pressure on the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and those who still speak for Artsakh and its historical significance to the Armenian people. Pashinyan has conducted a sustained campaign against the Catholicos of All Armenians, in breach of domestic and international guarantees of freedom of religion or belief. Several clergymen have been held in arbitrary and punitive pre-trial detention for their advocacy. Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan spent 344 days in custody on coup charges before his transfer to house arrest in June 2026. Dissent over Artsakh, and over the policy of “Real Armenia”, is being criminalised.
Above all, the people of Artsakh have been denied a voice. There is no forum – in Yerevan, Baku or Brussels – that admits them as parties to decisions about their own homeland. We sign this statement to voice their claims where they cannot do so themselves. We insist that their demands be heard.
We therefore call on the international community to secure:
1. The immediate and unconditional release of all Armenian detainees held by Azerbaijan, and full ICRC access to any hostages who remain in custody;
2. Azerbaijan’s full compliance with the ICJ’s order of 17 November 2023, and implementation of the right of the Armenians of Artsakh to return in safety and dignity;
targeted measures against those responsible for the blockade of Artsakh, the assault of September 2023, and the detention of Artsakh’s leaders;
3. Independent international oversight for the protection of Armenian heritage in Artsakh, including its churches, monasteries, cemeteries and khachkars (stone crosses);
4. The representation of Armenians of Artsakh in any process concerning their return and their rights, through representatives of their own choosing;
5. Respect by the Government of Armenia for the rights of the displaced, and an end to the prosecution of clergy and others for their advocacy on Artsakh.
We also urge the international community to stop treating normalisation of relations in the South Caucasus as a reason to set these demands aside, and to make progress on them a condition of closer relations with Azerbaijan. Three years is not long enough for a people to forget a homeland, nor to excuse the rest of us from acting.

Azerbaijan has orchestrated a state-guided propaganda tour for international envoys through the empty towns of Nagorno Karabakh / Artsakh, directly flouting standing resolutions from the @CIJ_ICJ, @Europarl_EN, and @UNESCO.
Video footage sparked widespread condemnation after showing diplomats smiling and dancing steps away from recently bulldozed Armenian Apostolic churches and cemeteries.

Three years after the brutal expulsion of 120,000 indigenous Armenian Christians, Baku bused in 150 representatives from 58 nations and institutions – including the @UN – to help validate its systematic campaign of cultural appropriation.
During the excursion, officials re-labeled ancient medieval monasteries like Gandzasar and Dadivank as "Caucasian Albanian" sites to falsely claim them as Azerbaijani property. The narrative faltered on camera, however, when an official guide admitted she could not read a royal tomb's inscriptions because they were carved entirely in indigenous Armenian script.

Joel Veldkamp and Natalie Khalil were interviewed by @EWTNews to expose the chilling case of her father, Suleiman Khalil – a Syriac Orthodox Christian and the former mayor of Sadad, Syria.
In 2015, Suleiman Khalil successfully organized the defense of his town against ISIS terrorists, preventing a catastrophic massacre of its 9,000 Christian inhabitants. Despite his heroic actions, he has been imprisoned by the new Syrian government since February 2025 without formal charges, legal representation, or regular family contact.
Natalie Khalil shared that during rare visits, her family was forced to wear hijabs, was barred from giving him a Bible, and guards even ripped a cross necklace off her brother's neck.

The Azerbaijani government has sponsored a guided tour for diplomats to emptied #NagornoKarabakh / Artsakh, despite resolutions by @CIJ_ICJ, @Europarl_EN, and @UNESCO regarding the destruction of Christian cultural heritage in the territory invaded in 2023.
On the tour, diplomats were seen giggling and praising their hosts as Azerbaijani officials mocked Armenian manuscripts and danced steps away from bulldozed churches and cemeteries.
Three years after the violent expulsion of 120,000 indigenous Armenian Christians from Artsakh, Azerbaijan bused in 150 global representatives from 58 countries – including the @UN.

🇨🇭 #Switzerland: Media spotlight on "whitewashing" abuses 🔴
The main public broadcasting channel in Switzerland, @SRF, has published a major report exposing how Azerbaijan's authoritarian regime uses Swiss cultural and sports events to polish its international image.
The feature highlights Joel Veldkamp, CSI's Director for Public Advocacy, who warns that the regime is engaging in cultural "whitewashing" to distract from its record of ethnic cleansing in #Armenia.
At the center of the controversy is the Septembre Musical festival in Montreux, organized with Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture. Veldkamp points out that the festival’s promotion of "5,000 years of Azerbaijani culture" mirrors regime propaganda used to rewrite history and mask the recent ethnic cleansing of 120,000 indigenous Christian Armenians from #NagornoKarabakh / Artsakh.

Christian massacre survivors protect an elderly Muslim resident for 16 years ✨
In a country often fractured by violence, a Christian community demonstrates that peaceful coexistence is still possible even where institutional justice fails.
The village of Dogo Nahawa in Plateau State was the scene of a brutal 2010 massacre where suspected Fulani Islamist militiamen killed over 500 Christians.
While the attack drove almost all other Muslim residents from the area, an elderly Muslim man, Mallam Idi, survived the onslaught by hiding. In the bitter aftermath, none of the Christian survivors sought retaliation against him.
Instead, for the past 16 years, his Christian neighbors have provided him with food, shelter, and support.
Today, Mallam Idi remains fully integrated into the village, included in local community deliberations, and completely free to perform his Islamic obligations and prayers without interference.
However, this coexistence remains fragile; a recent UN report highlights that widespread impunity and a lack of government action to prevent such attacks continue to fuel Islamist militias and terrorist groups across Nigeria.
No one has ever been prosecuted for the 2010 bloodshed.

Following the catastrophic August 26 flash floods, Christian Solidarity International has successfully deployed its first round of emergency relief assistance.
Navigating severe mud, landslides, and dangerously narrow paths, a dedicated local team completed a gruelling nine-hour mountain journey from Kathmandu to reach the hard-hit Trishuli River region in Nuwakot district.
The destruction across northern Nepal remains immense, with official tallies tracking over 7,450 houses completely destroyed across the Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan districts.
During this initial deployment, CSI's partner successfully delivered emergency packages containing essential tarpaulins, blankets, mattresses, mosquito nets, and water purifiers to more than 100 displaced families.
Furthermore, local churches have actively stepped up to run temporary holding centers, cooking hot meals for up to 300 vulnerable individuals every single day.
In alignment with CSI's core mission, these relief items and services are being provided as a universal lifefine to care for everyone in need, regardless of their religious background.

Nigeria's kidnapping crisis has turned into a massive funding engine for Islamic terrorism.
A landmark new report by security intelligence firm @sbmintelligence reveals that a staggering 90% of all traceable ransom money paid in the country went to a single jihadist faction – the Boko Haram splinter group known as JAS.

The financial returns extracted from these terror operations are unprecedented. Between July 2025 and June 2026, abductions in Nigeria skyrocketed by 66%, with 7,825 individuals kidnapped and over 7.78 billion naira ($5.7 million) paid out.
This includes lucrative mass ransoms, such as the payments extracted after taking 315 pupils and staff from St. Mary’s School in Papiri.
