Here’s my theory. I’m 67 and in the mid 70s when I was 16, all the guys in my group were over 6 feet tall. (I’m 5’2”) While the teens/men had long hair back in the 70s, they were still masculine and sexy as hell. For reference go look at Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin videos or any rock group of your choice.

They all had deep voices by 16-18. Facial hair in early 20s.

When I started having kids in 1983, we were pushed hard to give our kids SOY milk instead of regular milk, because it was ‘less allergenic’.

My husband was 6’2”, and my oldest son is 5’11. That son’s generation, (Class of 2001) half of his friends are around 6 feet and the other half are like 5’6-5’8”.

(in my case I remember my son’s baby Doc projecting that my son would probably be shorter than my husband because I’m 5’2”.)

Anyway, I even questioned this feminization of men around 2000, when I saw the adult height of my son’s generation.

The protagonist is François, a middle-aged literature professor at the Sorbonne who specializes in the 19th-century writer Joris-Karl Huysmans. He is a passive, somewhat decadent academic figure.
Set in a near-future France (around 2022), it depicts the election of a moderate Islamist leader, Mohammed Ben Abbes, of a newly created “Muslim Brotherhood”/Fraternity party. To block the far-right National Front (led by the real Marine Le Pen), traditional parties (Socialists, etc.) form an alliance that allows him to win. This leads to rapid Islamization: universities (including the Sorbonne, renamed and funded in part by Gulf money) require conversion or impose Islamic rules, women are encouraged to leave the workforce, polygamy becomes accepted, veiling spreads, and education is reshaped along religious lines. Crime drops in the suburbs and unemployment falls as women exit the job market.
