Being middle class in India feels like a trap.

Salary gets credited to your bank account.

TDS has already been deducted, so you receive your salary after income tax.

⬇️
You decide to save and invest your hard-earned money in stocks, mutual funds or FDs.

⬇️
Your investment grows and you earn a profit.

⬇️
You pay tax on those gains as well (depending on the type of investment).

⬇️
Now you decide to buy a TV, phone, laptop or any other product.

⬇️
You pay GST on that purchase.

⬇️
You go out for lunch or dinner with your family.

⬇️
The restaurant bill includes GST too.

⬇️
From earning, to investing, to spending...
at almost every stage, there's some form of tax involved.

I'm not saying taxes shouldn't exist , they're essential for running a country. But as a salaried middle class person, it can sometimes feel like you're paying taxes at almost every step of your financial journey.

If Anand Mahindra sells 3xo at 15L & govt takes away 5L & ask mahindra to build car within 10L, employees salary, R &D, rents etc will mahindra work?

Mahindra deducts all expenses & pay 25k tax at 25% at say 1L profit whereas a salaried class pay 5L tax on 15L & then spend.

A person having 10L CTC should say his income is 10k per month unless your father is paying for your rents, your kids education fees, bus, maintainance, electricity, healthcare, food, grocery.

CTC is not your income. When you say it's your income, govt apply tax on full CTC.
