I was shocked!
The school librarian told me "our students need these (pornographic) books."
...You know, the books you could not dare read on TV or over the radio.
What I did not share in my interview was that the school's Principal was also sitting at the conference table in his office while the librarians defended the explicit books. He told me on the way out the door, "I'm with y'all," but he was all talk and no action. He was too afraid of the librarians, the woke school board, and potential lawsuits from the leftist organizations to pull the books off the shelf voluntarily.
It takes an army to defend children against perverse and woke indoctrination. Support the work of great organizations like Moms for Liberty @M4LWilCoTX and @txvalues

Last week, Moms for Liberty Harris County Chapter Chair @denisebellhoutx gave public comment at the Spring Branch ISD board meeting regarding AI & parental rights. Parents are THE DRIVER of their children’s education, & schools must be transparent/forthcoming about tech use in the classroom & enable parents to opt out/opt in to various technology platforms. My/Denise’s public comment is below:
Good evening Members of the Board and Superintendent Blaine., I’d like to thank all of you for your service to our students and families. My name is Denise Bell. I’m a mom of 4 and have had at least one child in SBISD since 2011. I am also the chapter chair for moms for Liberty Harris County.
I’m here to speak tonight loosely on agenda item 12.B.11, in as much as it might pertain to AI. Specifically, I have some concerns about our AI policy, as SBISD addresses AI primarily in a short section of the broader Technology Resources exhibit (CQ Exhibit, under Employee/Student Acceptable Use guidelines),
As we all know, Artificial Intelligence is no longer a future concept; it is here in our classrooms. It has extraordinary potential to enhance learning, improve efficiency, and expand access to
information in ways we could not have imagined even a few years ago. Used wisely, AI can be a powerful educational tool. But with that opportunity comes serious responsibility.
We have already seen what happens when technology outpaces guardrails. Smartphones and social media were introduced without fully understanding their long-term impact on children. Today we see rising anxiety, depression, and addiction. With AI, the stakes are even higher.
That is why I am asking you today for two things. First, I’d like you to adopt the Moms for Liberty AI Proclamation, and second I’d like you to consider augmenting or altering the current SBISD policy around AI.
Moms for Liberty actually offers a model School Board Policy for AI use in schools. I brought one copy of the model policy for the board, and I can email it to all of you later. When I compare the Moms for Liberty model policy to that which SBISD already has in place, I find some exposures for students and parents, and I’d like to make some recommendations to the board.
1SBISD should consider annual parental notice and opt in consent listing all approved ai tools, vendors, data categories, and purposes, and mandating prior written opt-in parental consent for any student use of AI in instruction/activities. This should be revocable anytime by the parent without penalty.
2AI should be supplemental only, and not include automated profiling, assessments, or discipline without human oversight.
3Data collection should be minimal, and the data should remain as the student/parent property. No selling, sharing, licensing, or commercial use/profiling of data.
4Strict limits on biometric data or emotional data without case-specific consent.
5Prompt notice of data breaches.
6Require Vendors to contractually comply with the policy and all applicable student privacy laws.
These are some of the policy enhancements that I would like to see SBISD consider in order to better protect children and parental rights.
Regarding the Moms for Liberty proclamation on AI, our proclamation does not reject innovation. It embraces it with boundaries. It affirms that parents have the fundamental right to direct the upbringing and education of their children. It ensures transparency about what data is collected and how algorithms are used. It protects student data from commercial exploitation and profiling. It requires meaningful parental consent and oversight.
