Time & space to reflect, to make sense, to rest, to let things settle-
We need to prioritise this BECAUSE there's so much going on, rather than "sorry I can't because there's so much going on".
We need senior leaders to model this- to visibly 'give permission' to everyone else.
Lovely to see @brigidrussell51 visiting @NHSHighland to share her knowledge and experience. . Alot resonated with me today, about relationship and the power of listening “Take time to be comfortable with silence, feeling the light and the shade"
How might we find&create more safe #spacesforlistening to each other? We look forward to welcoming @brigidrussell51 to @NHSHighland to discuss how we develop environments where listening safely can allow us to have more open & meaningful conversations #CaringwithCompassion

We should have the same drive in “creating psychological safety” as we do with “freedom to speak up” - without the right culture & safety parameters people are not able to speak up
Thinking about the ripples…we all have a role to play in establishing a compassionate culture by sharing our stories, we can learn from each other & shape where we go from here. We invite all H&SC colleagues across NHSH/A&B HSCP to join us to connect & shape the way forward 1/2
As we look forward to Michael West joining us this month, delighted to share our new #Caringwithcompassion wheel beautifully illustrated by @Sonia_Sparkles . It’s designed as a starting point for conversations and sharing our stories …@NHSHighland@abhscp
How do we all influence our organisational culture to be more compassionate? What allows us, or what stops us from feeling safe, a sense of belonging, valued, thriving…?How do we build trust ? We’ll be seeking thoughts and feedback from colleagues across H&SC in Highland and A&B
As we navigate our way thro 1 of the most challenging periods in the history of the NHS, how can we support one another to promote a compassionate caring culture?
colleagues are invited to join the conversation as we welcome Prof Michael West to Inverness later this month

1) Start small
2) Be thankful
3) Be purposeful
4) Find common ground
5) See it
6) Elevate
7) Know your power:

All the energy spent fearing what we think of each other, & not really hearing our views. Imagine if we redirected that energy into really listening to & valuing each other? Maybe then we'd actually find so much more understanding & common ground, better ideas & peace between us.
