@BlackManJapan1 I've been keeping weird hours. I had a workshop in the States (online), so had to be on my game at 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. for the last week.
@Peckitt It took me a week to get through my beard... kept missing sections that I wanted to trim down. Went to work with very lopsided facial hair for two days before I realized. Another two days to tidy up the mistakes. Then trimming to clean up more mistakes.
Getting over a nasty chest infection. I was sure it was COVID, but tested negative for both covid and flu. Body temp over 39C... at its worst, it felt dangerously close to pneumonia was not fun... still coughing and spluttering two weeks later.
@BudoNick First thing I did before moving into ANY apartment: get three keys cut. Stick the originals in an envelope with all of the apartment paperwork. That gave me one for the wife and a spare one.
@hizaga Supermarket prices have gotten so ridiculous around here. Now that Costco Yamanashi has opened up, they are scrambling. A third of the price for a lot of produce and it is less than ten minutes from my house. I didn't anticipate going there very often, now I go 2-3 times a week.
@elizavetaka Absolutely... and doesn't sound silly at all. Courage isn't the absence of fear, it is doing what makes you fearful in spite of it. Like any virtue (or vice for that matter), the more you practice it, the easier it becomes.
The pollen is crazy this year. This is the worst it has been for me in a while. I have good meds, which more or less keep it in check MOST of the time.
@mrjeffu We had snow here in Yamanashi today. We've had that I can only recall one time in the last 25 years that we had it this late in the season. Fortunately, it has turned to rain, so no need to shovel.
@bull_japanese@BudoNick Worked with a guy who used to wear really colorful pinstriped suits to functions. Best one was a double-breasted purple number. When a former student got his pro kickboxing license, I was not surprised to run into him ringside at the gangster section.
@BudoNick A few people at my son's graduation didn't wear suits. All good, I say. I have a university entrance ceremony to attend next month. Debating what I wear.
@BudoNick My uncle taught in Kadina for many years. My grandmother was from Birdsville. Love the Yorke area. I may also look further afield to Eyre. As long as there is a local airport within driving range. Yorke is a good balance though. Nice beaches, though a little shark-infested
One thing that I loathe as an editor, is when clients think that they know better... and then send marked up PDFs for confirmation, in a paper into which they have introduced new mistakes, and which now requires manual markup and takes longer to recheck the original.
@BudoNick I'm making bread. The price of flour has risen but not so dramatically. I'm also on the lookout for one of those Philips noodlemakers. This price increase is artificial and should be investigated.
