Every student deserves high-quality, grade-level instruction, regardless of the teacher. But with 1 in 8 teaching positions vacant or filled by underqualified educators, that's a promise many schools are struggling to keep.
HQIM can help. But only if we're intentional about how we use them: https://t.co/dhUM09OspZ

Paper + Tech Activity: Students do a creative writing activity.
then, I take a picture of some of their papers and give them to Google Gemini.
I tell it to turn their creative writing into a comic strip.
it was a neat way for students to see how AI reimagined their work and spot any flaws.

Most development efforts fall flat.
Here is why:
Sharing great insights from Jeroen Kraaijenbrink.
People confuse coaching and mentoring.
These are not the same.
And knowing the difference makes you a far more valuable leader.
Coaching:
Helps people think for themselves.
Creates space for clarity.
Builds autonomy.
You don’t give answers - you help them find their own.
Mentoring:
Comes from lived experience.
You’ve walked the path, made the mistakes, learned the lessons.
You share wisdom, shortcuts, stories, and perspective.
A great mentor saves someone years of trial and error.
Both require the same foundation:
Trust.
Curiosity.
Empathy.
Deep listening.
Meaningful conversations.
The question isn’t which one is better.
The real question is:
What does this person need right now?
Sometimes they need a coach:
To slow down, reflect, and think independently.
Other times they need a mentor:
To see around corners they don’t even know exist.
The best leaders blend both.
They switch intentionally.
They guide without controlling.
They support without taking power away.
That’s what makes a truly valuable coach today:
Strong coaching skills + responsible use of experience.
Knowing when to ask questions, and when to share wisdom.
That’s the difference between being just helpful:
And being truly transformational.
P.S. Do you lean more towards coaching or mentoring?
♻️ Repost to help someone become the kind of leader people never forget.
