Meant to go back and remove obvious indications e.g. open fx and replace with more unique indications such as segmental fx. Unfortunately no edit option..

Important neurovascular anatomy:

✯The radial nerve is most commonly injured in humeral shaft fractures

✯It traverses the posterior humerus over an average distance of 6.5 cm along

✯It is most vulnerable to injury as it passes through the IM septum, where it is least mobile

@JoOgidi @Ortho_Reviews Fractures that occur medial to the CC ligaments or that are associated with CC ligamentous disruption allow displacement of the medial fragment. Type 1, 3, and 4 occur lateral to the CC ligaments so the CC ligaments prevent significant displacement.
