Statement from Conservative Friends of Israel
“At a crucial moment when Israel is fighting to achieve security for its citizens, and build new partnerships across the Middle East based on a vision of a shared future, the behaviour of Minister Ben Gvir does nothing to advance Israel’s cause.
"It does not reflect the values that Israel has been a beacon for since the state was created in 1948.”
Horrifying news from San Diego yesterday, where worshippers were attacked just days before Eid al-Adha. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire Muslim community in San Diego.
I know British Muslims are feeling deep anxiety today, with this news coming just days after a march spread hatred on the streets of London. We have record levels of funding for protecting mosques in this country, but we must do more than build higher walls. It is incumbent on everyone, across society, to stand together in solidarity against hatred. I know the British people will do so today.
@BrokenBarnet Surely they should look at how many votes each party received. Tories seem to have around 20,000 more votes across the borough so have won resoundingly
One of the biggest propaganda operations of the modern media era is watching the word “genocide” get repeated so relentlessly that people forget it still has to be proven.
Pretty incredible watching Mehdi Hasan spend years screaming that “every human rights organization” says Israel is committing genocide, only to turn around and ask the ICC prosecutor why he still hasn’t charged genocide.
Because slogans, activist press releases, and NGO campaigns are not evidence. You do not bring genocide charges unless you can actually prove genocidal intent in court, and after two and a half years of nonstop accusations (and decades of claiming Israel is committing genocide even before the current war), they still cannot do it.
Their entire play here is to flood the public with the word “genocide” enough times until people stop asking whether it’s true. Repeat it through media panels, NGOs, universities, celebrities, TikTok activists, UN officials, and “experts” until the accusation itself becomes treated as proof.
Most normal people cannot process that major media outlets and human rights institutions would coordinate this level of distortion so aggressively and so consistently. They reasonably assume there must be some fire behind this much smoke.
Meanwhile the actual people responsible for proving genocide in a courtroom still have not brought the charge, because unlike Twitter activists and BBC headlines, courts require actual evidence.
Anyone who responds to these antisemitic attacks by randomly attacking British Muslims is no friend of the Jewish community. We have to fight hate and extremism together.
Following the antisemitic stabbing of two Jewish people on the streets of Golders Green this morning, words of condemnation are no longer sufficient. This must be a moment that demands meaningful action from every institution, every community, every leader, and every decent person in our country. This is a hatred that we must face down together.
@ZackPolanski - this is magnificent. Three things I can’t deny:
1. It is a video.
2. You are wearing a jacket.
3. Then you aren’t.
4. Then you are again.
Unfortunately that’s where the accuracy ends.
A few corrections for you:
Peter Thiel is not our CEO. Alex Karp is — and has been for 20+ years. (A lifelong Democrat, for anyone keeping score.)
We are not a “spyware company.” Spyware is malware. Malware is illegal. Calling a software company spyware is, technically, defamatory (don’t worry, we are not suing).
We don’t build surveillance technology. We build software that helps organisations make sense of data they already hold. Not the same thing.
There was no “private tour” of our HQ. There was a public photocall to which the media came. Hence, why there are so many pictures of the event.
Our MOD contract is not “the biggest defence contract in UK history.” Ajax armoured vehicles = £5.5bn. Dreadnought submarines = £31bn. We’re grateful for the work, but let’s keep a sense of scale.
We have no more access to NHS data than Microsoft has to the contents of your Word documents. I think you know this by now.
We don’t have access to patient medical records. Same story.
I agree that “nothing matters more than our health.” Which makes it worth reminding you of what Palantir’s software is actually doing in the NHS right now:
->110,000 additional operations
->15% fewer delayed hospital discharges
->7% more patients finding out within 28 days whether they have cancer
Respect again for what you did with that jacket.
If everyone stops trying to eradicate Israel, there will be a significant reduction in wars in the Middle East.
If Israel stops trying to eradicate Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis and the Iranian regime, it’s more likely there won’t be much of Israel left.
Pick a side and an outcome
@BenKentish I’d rather they let us do the standing and they can do the moving. Do something. We don’t need more money for our security team. We need to eradicate the threat that leads us to need a security team. We need action in institutions and on campus where antisemitism is tolerated.
@Jeannieeharriso@SayeedaWarsi@anguswyatt Killing of any type isn’t. But these folk aren’t interested in diplomacy. Iranian people were not marching. against their govt for a better nuclear deal - they wanted a better life and their govt killed them. The world has let tyrants kill with no consequences. Enough
@SayeedaWarsi@anguswyatt Can you not acknowledge that the Iranian regime killed tens of thousands of civilians in a matter of days and that Iran has been behind so many terrorist organisations that this is good for the entire civilised world?
