@CllrFranTimmons@Colaistebride Most Catholics follow Church teaching as set out in Dignitas Infinita. Confusingly this @CeistTrust@CatholicBishops seems to think it acceptable to affirm the notion that girls can become boys. What bad example!
@griptmedia Sad that some schools record SPHE and BiCinealtas OPT OUTS as absences.
Now look at the ever increasing sums being paid for teacher cover/substitutions and a @Education_Ire bankrupting the nation!
My letter to the editor in response to this article, which was not published:
Sir,
In Tuesday’s Debate feature, Is it time to get religion out of the classroom?, Paddy Monahan’s argument rests on the claim that “40 per cent of parents of children in religious-run schools would prefer if their school was multi-denominational”, but only 41 per cent of eligible households actually responded to the survey. In reality, the figure describes 40 per cent of respondents, which equates to roughly 16 per cent of all families with primary school-aged children – a far cry from the sweeping mandate he suggests.
On that basis, the claim that in a “typical Catholic classroom of 25 children, the parents of 10 would rather they were elsewhere” is a significant misreading of the numbers and is a serious exaggeration. The article further asserts that “the true demand for change is almost certainly far higher”. Once basic issues like self-selection bias are taken into account, it is reasonable to assume that respondents are those with strong views, and that many non‑respondents are parents broadly content with existing arrangements.
When you add the fact that 60 per cent of respondents with children in religious-run schools do want to retain that ethos, it is much more plausible that any higher “true demand” lies with the status quo, not with change.
There is little value in asking parents what they think if the actual results are then recast to suit the agenda of a vocal minority.
@TheCountessIE When @MayoCoCo with its Pride sponsor @abbvie disrespected people of faith last summer they signalled “anything goes” and now we see consequences.
@CareChampions2@MelByrne71 Until real parent representatives are appointed to the board @ncseirl this will continue to happen. Catherine Cross CEO of NPCprimary NGO could not find two parents to nominate to the board and so the Minister appointed a TENI advocate instead.
@griptmedia The problem is the false notion that Catholic school interests are served by members of Joint Managerial Board @JMB_Secretariat representation on @NCCAie boards and subject panels. At the same time JMB represents Educate Together ideology and a different social justice.
A US judge has ordered the removal of President Donald Trump's name from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, ruling that the iconic Washington venue cannot be renamed without an act of Congress

@GregCantyFuzion Greg, I started writing for Gript when they picked up my story on women being abused in dv shelters by transID men. No other media outlet cared about these vulnerable people being punched down upon. @RuthCoppingerSP said I was “spreading hate”. Please Greg, where do you see hate?
A tale of two religions as reported by the @IrishTimes
The onslaught against Catholicism in Ireland continues, while the Irish Times treats Islam, the religion of women’s oppression, in a much more benign way.
Why is that?
@CSSPA4@griptmedia@NiamhLanes@NormaFoleyTD1@NCCAie There is no longer a rep of Catholic education on @NCCAie subject panels. In the past @JMB_Secretariat official might have done so but no longer now that JMB also represents Educate Together ideologies. Remember JMB high ups back affirmation of confused gender teens.
@DavQuinn@timcrowley_ What is interesting is that there is no longer a representative of Catholic education on @NCCAie subject panels. In the past @JMB_Secretariat person might have done so but no longer since JMB also represents Educate Together ideologies. What do @CatholicBishops say?
