@KevinLeichtman@pmcash That is a really interesting idea. One that will probably take a long time for higher education institutions to get on board with in a way that feels like it has true academic integrity. But - the work has to start somewhere!
@KevinLeichtman@pmcash 1st - thank you for this thread. This is such an important topic for educators to discuss. 2nd - Are you suggesting students do the research and then program in words from their various sources to create a response they can cite? Or are you saying no citations are needed at all?
@GaryAckermanPhD Both - although we might use the word "assist" instead of "manage." Of course, whether or not students engage with outcomes in a useful way is a whole other story.
This is a great question because accessibility is so important. Students shouldn't have to ask for alternative content or assignments. Our university has an ID department that also includes editors and techs to support our professors & Ss with inclusive design. @CSUedu
Infographics are fine, but I always wonder about accessibility. How do we alt-text them? How do we convince folks to convey the information in non-graphic format too?
@GaryAckermanPhD If it is a large infographic, we include a link directly below it to the content in a PDF. For small ones, we use alt-text. Our IDs create the alt formats for our professors. No convincing needed! Perhaps training and TLGs would help?
@TheQMIDA PowerPoint - They keep improving the functionality and allowing Add-Ins. It's an incredibly useful tool for online course-content presentations.
