One of the most difficult times to pray is during midday. We often have so much coming at us, that to be still for 5-10 minutes seems impossible. But it is one of the practices of discipleship that grounds us in God.
Here’s a short midday prayer framework for you to consider...
1) Try to step away from your work or 10 minutes (set a timer on your phone)
2) For 5-6 minutes, slowly read Psalm 23, inviting God to speak to you through the words of scripture
3) If a word or phrase stands out to you, repeat it several times in your heart ...
I'll say it again, and as many times as you need to hear it:
Depression is not sin.
Anti-depressants are not weakness.
Pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps is not the gospel.
We are dust.
We are dust.
We are dust.
But God, being rich in mercy, gave us Christ.
What’s a quiet time? // During this daily quiet time, Jesus habitually removed himself from the busyness of life and spent time in intimate communion with his Father. Learn more here: https://t.co/rB0CiIHpkB
