A pleasure to begin my visit to Turkmenistan with a meeting with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. 🇹🇲 has been with the CTBT from the very beginning, signing the Treaty on the day it opened for signature, and is home to primary seismic station PS44 in Alibek, a valued contribution to the Treaty’s verification system and to global peace and security. In late April, 25 radionuclide and waveform operators from 22 countries came together in Vienna & #CTBTO TeST Centre in Seibersdorf for three days of training on the systems that keep station data authenticated and trusted across our global monitoring network 📡.

The majority were from G77 & Latin American and Caribbean States 🌍, reflecting how far the IMS reaches and the shared commitment to banning nuclear test explosions.
