You'll no longer see the Verified badge on our accounts across X/Twitter come the end of January 2026. We originally joined the X Verified program to access additional support for brand accounts, but we no longer see the value in this program nor in supporting X as a company.

Why? Short answer: We really don't like the direction this app is heading in. We'll still post here for the time being, but know that could change too.

Long answer:

Studio Countdown is a small business, and most if not all of what we do is primarily driven by our own individual passions for art and storytelling. Nothing is more important to us than giving artists like ourselves and our communities the power to express raw creativity fearlessly.

We've noticed time and time again that X/Twitter doesn't care about the authenticity or integrity of their platform, which - to say the least - does not align with our values. At all.

We kept our faith in this platform for a while because we believed it was in the best interest of our team and our fans to try and foster our own positive corner of this little app with a bird that lost its job to a letter of the alphabet.

Again we'll still be posting here, but unless something drastically changes in the way X operates, we will not be running any paid advertising or providing any other direct financial incentive to X. We are aware that X is a corporation significantly larger than Studio Countdown and we know they won't "feel a hit". We simply no longer see a good reason to waste studio budget on attempting to cooperate with a sinking ship.
