We are inspired everyday by the countless, courageous women who have pushed the labor movement forward, past and present! We celebrate the women who have fought for change and remember their sacrifices as we fight for a union and higher pay for app drivers across the country!
New York IDG member Dinara Zhanpeissova was one of the many key drivers who helped secure an 8.8% wage increase for New York drivers this month!
She shocked the TLC by explaining that after taxes, fees, expenses, and Uber’s cut, she would only be making $18,000 for the year.
Our work has dignity. We deserve a seat at the table to negotiate how much we earn, our protections, and to put an end to unfair deactivation. We stand with Mass IDG ✊🏽
This past month members of our Massachusetts chapter caravanned to their local Uber headquarters to let the tech giant know that they will not stop demanding a union❗
When we fight, we win! Congratulations to our @DrivingGuild chapter for securing ANOTHER wage increase for New York Uber and Lyft drivers yesterday ✊🏽✊🏻
“The biggest thing we are fighting for is a seat at the table. We drivers need a seat at the table so we can negotiate our salary, our benefits, and our safety,” - Sohail Rana, CT IDG Deputy Director ✊🏾✊🏾

At IDG, we aspire everyday to embody the perseverance and determination that Black labor leaders have shown us as we continue our intersectional fight for racial and economic justice for rideshare drivers. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
Happy Black History Month! This month and every, we recognize the indispensable contributions and achievements of Black American workers whose courage, vision, and solidarity has moved our society forward in innumerable ways.
According to the Black Institute's newest report, it will effectively double-tax for hire vehicle drivers, the majority of which are immigrants and people of color: https://t.co/drjmineGbL
Every day, we aim to fight for the valuable job protections that rideshare and delivery drivers are owed. All drivers deserve the right to form a union, an equal voice at work, and dignity on the job!
Martin Luther King Jr’s fight for social justice and racial equality will forever be remembered ✊🏾✊🏻 At IDG, we strive to follow in Dr. King’s footsteps by standing up for social and financial justice for rideshare drivers and our communities!
New York state officials are proposing a SECOND congestion tax on rideshare drivers servicing the busiest parts of Manhattan. This tax will lower your pay, make rides more expensive for riders, and potentially kill thousands of rideshare jobs!
According to the Black Institute’s recent report, the congestion tax will also disproportionately affect the health and financial well-being of black and brown communities in New York! Read here: https://t.co/drjmineGbL
We are deeply saddened at the passing of CT State Representative Quentin “Q” Willams. Rep. Williams was an important voice for economic and racial justice lost far too soon. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones. This is a tremendous loss for CT.
