@jenniferelle_@PierrePoilievre Do you support his “tough on crime” policies that will only further the mass incarceration of indigenous people? You claim to be pro-indigenous and then you align with conservatives?
Canadian justice system misperception number 1: That a "life sentence" is even close to what a reasonable person would assume that term means. It basically means you never stop being on parole, but people with "life sentences" are routinely let out of prison after just five years
@robertstrau67@TristinHopper Yeah Tristin claiming that lifers get out after 5 years only to then debunk his own claims from the data he decides to cite really makes me consider the integrity of reporters like him.
@TristinHopper So you admit that your initial tweet, the entire basis of this argument, was just a complete lie then? From the data that you yourself decide to cite? Lmao
@chucknisga@lawandchocolate@TristinHopper The entire argument started in the first place because Tristin claimed that lifers “routinely” get out after 5 years. The very data HE cites contradicts this.
@TheCanadianCon @TristinHopper CSC data is literally referenced multiple times in the paper lmao, I honestly feel bad for how delusional you people are.
@Sandra_Cole44 @Diana_C_McNally The vast vast majority of interactions have nothing to do with harmful activity and everything to do with the further criminalization of homelessness in public space. Unhoused people are fined for simply existing or participating in survival tactics like panhandling.
@jenniferelle_ I’m just confused, what policies do you actually support when it comes to housing? You seem to like complaining without advocating for ideas.
@tafphorisms@BigPompaPomp Police are the last people who should be empowered when it comes to reducing “crime.” You fundamentally misunderstand leftist arguments when it comes to policing.
