No, the US is not broadly barring foreign nationals from graduate schools. International students (especially in STEM) are still very much admitted and form a large share of grad enrollment. However, there have been tighter policies in recent years
-Expanded vetting, security reviews, and restrictions on students from certain countries (e.g., China in sensitive fields).
-Visa processing delays, funding shifts away from some programs, and rhetoric pushing for more domestic talent.
-Result: International grad applications/enrollments have fluctuated or dropped in some fields/universities, but it's not a blanket ban.
