Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.
This day recognizes Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and their families. We wear orange today in honour of them, and as a reminder that #EveryChildMatters.
This week we have been discussing about the Truth and Reconciliation, Orange Shirt and been incorporating it with Grade 3 and Grade 4 Social Studies. Thank you Moses for giving us the permission to help us create this beautiful art piece.
Flags at DPCDSB schools and facilities will be flown at half-staff from Friday, September 26 through to Sunday, September 28 in observance of Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day, which is observed this year on Sunday, September 28.

September 22–26 is Truth and Reconciliation Week. During this week, we reflect on and learn about the impact of residential schools, remember the children lost to the residential school system, and honour Survivors and their families.
Flags on DPCDSB schools/facilities will be flown at half-staff from September 12 through to September 14 in observance of Firefighters’ National Memorial Day. This day commemorates Firefighters’ courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to serving our communities.
Peel Public Health (PPH) and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) will be providing dental screening for students in select grades in DPCDSB elementary schools during the 2025-2026 school year.
