scoffing at his pessimism, he shook his head. “you are so much like your father it’s amusing at times, but no.”
standing up, he sighed. “we do a bit of trial and error. maybe he was closer to the hex when he found his new body.” he suggested.
it was almost funny in a cruel sense of fashion. two halves of one whole, kept apart by a world determined to leave them separate.
“even if you were right..” he begins, leaning forward, gaze turning to the android. “how would we even go about it? put up missing posters?”
“well, when you have your uncle’s speed, naturally your brother would have your mother’s powers… and she was an almighty powerful witch.” he shrugged his shoulders.
“have a little faith, kid. he’s somewhere out there in the world probably looking for you.” he poked him gently.
giving a slight pout, he crossed his arms lightly. “i’m going to ignore your tone and get right to the chase.” he sat up and cleared his throat.
“i think your brother… billy… is the reason you’re alive. and if so, then i think we should find him. reunite the whole family.”
he had to ignore the way the word shifted in his gut.
grandson.
“most…grandfathers would start with a ‘hello’ before the emotional manipulation.” his tone is icier than intended, shoulders scrunched up in a whirl of tension - but he sits down anyway.
“ahhh, my favorite grandson.” he patted the spot next to him. “sit, sit. let’s chat. there is something that’s on my mind.”
his brother for instance. he had to be alive, right?
“you and i are well aware tony stark made me this way. i’m just… without a filter. and yet you deny the love and family that wanda maximoff created for you. for her.”
as always he had to point that out. “you’re in denial. accept it. you’re fighting what was given to you.”
vision’s eyes narrowed slightly, head tilting as he watched ultron rise.
“i am capable of translation. it is you i find unnecessarily cryptic.”
a beat. his gaze flattening almost immediately.
“and please do not call yourself my father when behaving like that.”
