people are so melodramatic about voting. it’s filling in a bubble on a piece of paper that doesn’t jeopardize your dignity. personal feelings shouldn’t take priority over influencing control of the most powerful country on earth. voting is dirty work but it takes like ten minutes
At this point I wouldn’t vote Platner if I were in Maine. My dignity is worth more than that. Can’t tell anyone else to do but “vote your conscience” is generally a good way to live
the home invasion piece of the platner article floored me because I’ve heard that exact sentiment expressed almost verbatim by a guy I went to high school with
@queerBengali she resigned in october of last year and waited to bring it up until right before the primary, when basically no one was available to jump in to challenge him. her motives are not as pure as you say
everyone assuming the nyt article was about SA kinda softened the blow from the actual article. even with concerning allegations it reads as less severe than everyone expected. it could be received differently by the maine electorate that isn’t chronically online, we’ll see.
assuming this article is it and no one comes forward and actually accuses him of SA, they can probably spin his behaviors as manifestations of ptsd. definitely not as bad as nicky frank et al were claiming but who knows what other skeletons are in his closet or on his chest
