Alumni Success Monday
From the Land of Safari, Kenya, this week we journey to the Land of Gold, Ghana, where we meet Kettie Mpendame, one of the Catholic University of Malawi’s inspiring alumni.
After successfully going through interviews, I was selected for the programme and officially began my exchange journey in February. I first travelled to Uganda for preparatory training before being deployed to serve with the Ghana Girl Guides Association in Ghana,” shared Kettie.
The interaction inspired the establishment of a Governance Club at the University’s new campus, aimed at nurturing responsible leadership and active citizenship among students.
Today, Friday, May 8, 2026, officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau visited students at the St. Thomas More Campus in Lilongwe to enlighten them on the mandate and operations of the Bureau.
During the engagement, the officials also shared insights on governance and the importance of promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity among young people.
She also reflected on her time serving in the Students’ Union, noting that the leadership experience significantly strengthened her confidence and competence, qualities that continue to guide her as she works in a foreign environment.
