"The functional programmer sounds rather like a medieval monk, denying himself the pleasures of life in the hope that it will make him virtuous." From the classic paper: Why functional programming matters by John Hughes

OK, this issue doesn't have much to do with people who are trained in ML.
It has more to do with domain scientists who *use* ML and haven't been exposed to common methodological pitfalls.
More courses for ML pple won't help.
More training in ML for domain scientists will.
Very interesting company: https://t.co/4cQzLnXiBi You get training in AI development for free (~6 months) you pay during your first two years, after you get a job.
Interested in type systems and applied PL research? Jane Street is (still) growing our compilers team. There's a ton of ambitious projects underway, and more to come if we can find more of the right people.

It's been a year since I visited my native Mexico 🇲🇽
The other day my wife scolded me: buddy asked what I missed most; I immediately answered "the food" (right answer: family?)
Life in Medellin is a dream, but its tacos suck
Mexico is on another level. Love Thread to Tacos 👇
Lots of technical management positions open in Colombia. In my experience this is the most difficult position to find. One simple explanation: Good programmers don’t want / don’t like to manage. Thoughts?
I'm really excited about what is going on in Latin America right now.

Happy 250th bday Beethoven!
Vividly remember stumbling into my parent's CD collection and playing the 9th.
I was 10. Recently heard "ode to joy" as a song at the end of the 94 USA World Cup
Was blown away to hear the full orchestration. Loved "classical" music ever since.
