I used to think God is distant and disappointed. But then I started re-seeing Jesus. Not just His words, but His actions. I saw how He touched the untouchable, defended the guilty and broke rules to heal. He never avoided messy people, but went out of His way to rub shoulders with them. Finally I realized that Jesus didn’t come to change God’s mind about us; He came to change our minds about God. Jesus said, “If you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father” (John 14v9). Paul called Him the fullness of God in the flesh (Colossians 2v9). John revealed He’s not cold or critical, but full of grace and faithfulness (John 1v14). I like to say, “He’s Love that you can count on.”
