Bambi🐾🐾 just landed on our adoption floor.

Which means she’s officially looking, and we can tell you something about her that with most dogs takes months of guessing.

She has already lived with cats.

She’s a one year old cattle dog mix who apparently never got the memo about being a cattle dog mix. No pacing. No spinning. No herding your ankles across the yard.

Whatever her first home was, somebody in it taught her that sharing space with a cat is just normal.

Red coat, a white blaze straight up her muzzle, and a fine spray of white speckling across her face and chest like someone flicked a paintbrush at her. One ear up, one ear still thinking about it.

She is not a dog you walk past.

🐾 1 year old, about 35 pounds
🐈 Lived with cats in her last home
🐕 Dog friendly
😌 Settled and easy, not the whirlwind you’d expect
🎓 Young enough that everything you teach her sticks

What gets you in person is that she doesn’t work the room. She picks one person, leans her whole self into them, and stays.

Being straight with you: we haven’t seen her with kids, so that’s an unknown and we’re not going to dress it up as anything else. And her cat history comes from the family who surrendered her, not from a test we ran ourselves. That’s real information. It just isn’t a guarantee.

But there’s no project here. No months of undoing anything. Just a young dog who already knows how to live in a house with somebody else’s animals in it.

If you’ve got a cat at home, you already know how much of the search that one line settles.

So don’t sit on this one.

Bellamy🐾🐾 nudges your hand the second the petting stops. She melts into your side like she’s trying to close every last inch of distance.
Which makes her situation quietly heartbreaking: she’s spent 4 months in a kennel, where the people always go home at the end of the day.
