BIG DEAL: LB 626, Nebraska's proposed 6-week abortion ban, is dead. A vote to end debate failed by a single vote.

Seems largely thanks to Omaha Sen. Merv Riepe (R). He intro'd an amendment to instead tighten current law to 12 wks post-fertilization ban. His vote: "not voting."

My cat is so cruel. Each morning right as I hit my alarm, he starts getting extra snuggly. Like he gets up from wherever he’s sleeping on our bed to hunker in next to me, and then gently places a paw on my body if I try to get up. 😭 mornings are already difficult, my guy.
