I’ve been listening to Drake for years but unbiased opinion:
Kendrick had a good concept with DAMN. with wickedness v weakness and no matter how you play the album, he gets “killed.”
But take care was Drake’s breakthrough. And changed future music forever
I’d choose Take Care
Oh yeah for sure. Cuz whenever I get into the car I always say “Yo put on U” or “put on Wesley’s Theory”
Every Drake album has replay value cuz that’s his talent. Kendrick hasn’t mastered the skill of replay value. The closest he got was with DAMN. And whatever GNX was

As someone who is currently listening to all of his discography, the only albums that are carrying his music career are TPAB and GKMC. And maybe DAMN. He has been going downhill in music quality since 2017
Overall, Drake delivered on this album, giving us good lyrics, good flows and different production that matched the energy and direction he needed to deliver his icy approach. It was a very solid album but not perfect.
It’s his best solo album since Scorpion
FINAL SCORE: 8.4/10
Not a Con but note:
There was some repetitiveness on this album. Some tracks like Ran to Atlanta had some repetitive lyrics. Additionally, 8 out of 18 tracks had beat switches which also felt repetitive on this album
All of these artists have one thing in common: THEY’VE ALL RELEASED SOMETHING THIS YEAR
KENDRICK HASN’T. SO WHY TF IS HE NOMINATED WHEN ALL HES DONE IS GO TO DISNEYLAND?????

I’ve known this but it’s definitely obvious with this review:
Drake could release the most perfect album ever and Faketano would still find a way to shit on it. But if Kendrick releases something similar he would give it an 8 or 9
Anthony CloutChasing Faketano back at it again
Anthony Fantano rates Drake's 'ICEMAN' a "light 2":
“With Iceman, Drake can't help but confirm pretty much all of the worst criticisms against him, that he's a duplicitous creep and numbers obsessed clout goblin.”
"The Boy doesn't really have the juice quite like he used to... I think the days of milk and honey, of Drake's stimulus packages, of him being able to shape the mainstream layer of hip-hop merely by dropping a song that goes into a new direction. I think that's all done."
"I don't think Iceman is Drake's worst album, period. But I do think it is his most sorry ass record so far... Like I lost my innocence at the tender age of 40 and now the whole world has to pay. You'll never be seeing my kind side ever again. Like this is a temper tantrum."

Say what you want but I don’t remember the last time Drake put this much work into an album
He’s never done a rollout like this, he’s never put out 17 music videos, he’s never put out 3 albums in one night
And delivered an album that has one. MAYBE two skips
Drake killed it 🧊
It’s crazy to think that Drake dropped 3 albums in one night. And he’s still going
SCARY HOURS 4 this summer
And “allegedly” another album later this year 🤔
Here’s my thoughts:
ICEMAN was the mission and he completed it. HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR were just side quests that felt unfulfilled for me. Did he need the other two albums? Prob not. But they were fun.
Will be listening to ICEMAN on repeat 🧊
Just finished HABIBTI
That was so painfully average. His singing reminded me of autotune vocals from HM and FATD, and not in a good way. This was not R&B at all. If you want R&B, listen to Peak, Teenage Fever, Girls love Beyonce. Whatever this was, it wasn’t it.
Score: 4/10
