The NCLT approved a repayment plan, where he has to pay....wait for it....Rs. 6.5 crore.

That's a haircut of 99.97%.

In finance terminology, when creditors are owed money and the debtor repays only part of it, the difference expressed as a percentage is called a haircut.

The National Company Law Tribunal has just approved a repayment plan of a noted businessman under which creditors will receive only Rs 6.5 crores against admitted claims of around Rs 22,006.57 crore.

This is not just a haircut. It is actually a mundan and makes a complete mockery of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

Now picture a farmer owing ₹1 lakh asking the bank to call it even for 30 bucks. He’d be laughed out of the room or dragged to court.

But when a BJP backed MP walks into the NCLT with a ₹22,006 crore debt, he gets to walk away paying just ₹6.5 crore.

A 99.97% cut.
That's a total wipeout.

But, I guess, not to worry taxpayers. Someone has to pay for this discount…

A re-poll addresses the mistake, but not the cause. The ECI needs to face tough questions and democracy demands accountability, not just a retry.
Coincidentally, in Sreerampore Assembly the number of under adjudication is 8000+ and I was defeated by almost the same number of votes. Voting system should be inclusive, the exclusion of genuine voters is a direct attack on democracy.
We demand a full, independent audit of voter rolls and adjudication processes in West Bengal. Democracy cannot function on administrative oversights.

BPSC की परीक्षाओं का विवाद आज का नहीं है। छात्र लंबे समय से भर्ती प्रक्रिया, परीक्षा पैटर्न, देरी और पारदर्शिता को लेकर सड़कों पर हैं।

पर सरकार जवाब देने के बजाय कर क्या रही है? लाठी और वॉटर कैनन चला रही है। छात्रों को हिरासत में ले रही है। सीवान में तो प्रदर्शनकारियों पर AK 47 द्वारा गोलीबारी तक सामने आई।

यह सिर्फ़ पुलिस की कार्रवाई का सवाल नहीं। यह उस BJP सरकार की मानसिकता का सवाल है, जिसके पास जवाब नहीं हैं - इसलिए वह पुलिस को जवाबदेही से बचने का हथियार बना रही है।

BJP सरकार यह समझ ले - लाठी से सवाल नहीं रुकते। डराकर किसी का भविष्य नहीं छीना जा सकता।

बिहार के छात्र सवाल पूछते रहेंगे। और अब सिर्फ़ जवाब नहीं - जवाबदेही चाहिए।
